About this Retreat
Desirée Alemán is a passionate yoga practitioner and teacher, as well as a guide and mentor with a deep focus on spiritual empowerment. Through her teachings, she invites others to embrace and fall in love with the fullness of the human experience. Desirée’s yoga journey began in 2012, when she sought a space where she could feel safe, loved, and free. It was through yoga that she discovered that everything she was searching for was already within her — the immense healing power of her body and mind, waiting to be unlocked.
Her approach is rooted in the traditions of Ashtanga Yoga, Tantra, Hatha Yoga, somatic therapy, dance as a form of expression, and the development of feminine energy. Over the last decade, Desirée has worked with hundreds of people, helping them reconnect with their innate confidence, power, and love through yoga and other transformative practices.
Desirée’s teachings blend practicality with mysticism, as she believes that the human experience is sacred. She enjoys sharing her practice within a passionate and loving community that inspires a vibrant passion for life. Her purpose is to help others awaken to their true potential and to follow their calling of sharing their light with the world.
Desirée received her first yoga certification in 2013, and since then, she has studied with numerous incredible teachers worldwide. Her journey also took her to India, where she studied under Paramaguru Sharath Jois. She continues her studies in yoga philosophy, Sanskrit, and mantra chanting, constantly deepening her knowledge and practice. She has been teaching Yoga teacher trainings since 2016 and had certified hundreds of students.
Adeline discovered yoga in 2012 in France, during a time when she needed to reconnect with her body, practice self-love, and release past patterns to fully live in the present moment. She found so much joy and inner peace in the practice that she decided to train as a teacher in 2019 in India, with the intention of sharing yoga with others. Specializing in Hatha and Yin Yoga, Adeline also incorporates her own unique blend of creative movement, conscious breathing, and stillness, which draws from years of experience in movement exploration and yoga practices. Using movement as medicine, she inspires her students to connect with the divine present moment, a direct portal to their own intuition and inner wisdom.
As a 500-hour certified Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance, Adeline’s approach emphasizes balance, mindfulness, and alignment. In her Hatha Yoga classes, she combines physical postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation, making it ideal for those seeking a practice that strengthens the body while calming the mind. Yin Yoga, on the other hand, offers a slower, deeper practice that focuses on holding postures for several minutes to stimulate connective tissues and joints, promoting flexibility and relaxation. This practice is perfect for cultivating inner stillness and releasing deep tension from both body and mind.
Roey, the visionary founder of Vikara Retreat Center, has been on a transformative path of healing and self-discovery for over a decade. His journey began in 2014 when he started working with plant medicines, including San Pedro, mushrooms, and ayahuasca—experiences that ignited a deep passion for spiritual exploration and healing. Seeking profound wisdom and a diverse range of ceremonial approaches, Roey traveled extensively to learn from a variety of teachers and traditions, immersing himself in the sacred practices of indigenous cultures.
Before embracing plant medicine, Roey practiced yoga for over 7 years, starting with Ashtanga Yoga, which laid the foundation for his discipline. He completed his 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Ecuador, where he deepened both his practice and his understanding of yoga’s transformative power.
Roey has also undertaken four vision quests in Ecuador under the supervision of Taita Alejo Valdivieso, a revered Indigenous elder, where he received the blessings to lead sweat lodges, and has been since praying and guiding the Temazcal ceremonies in Vikara.
With over 13 years of experience in the therapeutic world, Roey has a deep understanding of healing modalities, which he integrates into the offerings at Vikara. In 2020, Roey founded Vikara Retreats, a space dedicated to sharing the transformative power of plant medicines, along with many other practices and tools that serve bringing more light to the consciousness and allowing more balance to enter in to our lives.
Vikara’s mission is to provide tools for personal growth, healing, and self-discovery, creating a safe space for individuals seeking transformation and awakening. As Roey’s journey continues to evolve, he remains committed to expanding Vikara’s offerings and sharing the gifts of healing, wisdom, and connection with the world.
Kiya has extensive experience in managing retreat centers and organizing transformative retreats worldwide. Her commitment to community living and consciousness drives her specialization in creating spaces that foster connection and healing.
Born in Brazil, Kiya was immersed in the traditions of spiritual healers (curanderos) and shamanic rituals, which form the foundation of her heritage. Her journey as a spiritual healer began as a teenager in spiritual centers, where she deepened her channeling abilities.
With over 20 years of experience and training in diverse therapeutic approaches, Kiya developed a unique method called The Heart’s Code, facilitating deeper self-understanding and personal growth. She combines ancient wisdom like Tantra and Shamanism with modern therapeutic approaches.
Kiya leads pilgrimages in the Amazon and Andes, connecting participants with nature and sacred sites while ensuring access to plant medicine wisdom in a sacred and responsible manner. Much of her recent work focuses on empowering women to reconnect with their ancestral sisterhood, unveiling their innate wild nature and authenticity.
Her journey has been enriched by a five-year nomadic period across the Middle East, Europe, Bali, Australia, and the Americas, where she deepened her learnings and shared her work.
Kiya’s mission is to inspire others to live from their hearts, activate their inner medicine, and embrace their true selves.
