About this Retreat
Vanesa was born and raised in Iquitos. Suffering from bulimia in early childhood, she encountered ayahuasca at the age of 17. A mestizo maestro guided her through an intense dieta regimen, which not only helped cure her debilitating disease but also made her love life — something she never thought was possible. Ayahuasca helped her clean her body, spirit, and soul. After this transformative experience, she felt completely reborn.
During and after her studies, Vanesa worked at numerous ayahuasca centers in Peru and abroad, dedicated to helping people transform their lives. She always wanted to create her own place to help people heal, share love and peace, and contribute to the local community
Arnaldo was raised in Tamshiyacu, Peru. Of Mestizo lineage, he has extensive experience working with Peruvian plant medicines. People describe him as a humble healer with a love for helping those facing various challenges. Arnaldo deeply respects the plant medicines and prefers to consider himself an intermediary between the spirit world and the earthly world rather than calling himself a healer.
From a young age, Arnaldo was fascinated by the abundant jungle and eager to learn about the healing powers of plants. He is kind and respectful towards others and wants to share his expertise with us, for which we are very grateful.
Details of this retreat
We offer both a 12-day and a 7-day ayahuasca retreat. The 12-day program includes 7 ayahuasca ceremonies, while the 7-day program includes 4 ceremonies, making it an excellent option for those with limited time.
Throughout the retreat, you'll receive both individual and group guidance to help you prepare for and integrate your experiences. After every ceremony, we hold a sharing circle where guests can reflect on their journey. Arnaldo shares his insights from the ceremony and offers practical guidance to support each participant's healing process.
In addition to the ceremonies, the program includes jungle walks, flower baths, guided meditation, a traditional fire ceremony, learning how ayahuasca is prepared, and other activities that deepen your connection with Amazonian traditions.
At Ayaselva, we intentionally keep our groups small, with a maximum of six guests. This allows us to provide personal attention, create a safe and supportive atmosphere, and ensure every guest receives the guidance they need throughout their healing journey.
Upon Arrival
Your journey begins the moment you arrive in Peru. We will pick you up at Iquitos Airport and, depending on your arrival time, take you either to a comfortable hotel or directly to our retreat center in Tamshiyacu.
From Iquitos, we will travel together by boat along the Amazon River, followed by a short mototaxi ride to the retreat center. Once you arrive, you'll have time to settle into your private room, relax, and enjoy your surroundings.
After lunch, we'll gather for a welcome meeting where you'll meet the team, get to know the other participants, and receive a detailed introduction to the retreat, the ceremonies, and everything you can expect during your stay.
Although Ayaselva is surrounded by the tranquility of the Amazon, the nearby town of Tamshiyacu is only a short distance away should medical assistance ever be required.
