Since 2018, Myles Katz has dedicated himself to advancing the field of legal psilocybin experiences. He co-founded The Synthesis Institute in Amsterdam, where he helped develop one of the world’s first legal psychedelic service models. This initiative supported over 1,000 individuals on their wellness journeys and included a significant partnership with Imperial College London, enriching his understanding of effective psychedelic practices. His experience with Synthesis led to an invitation onto the board of the Oregon Psilocybin Training Alliance (OPTA) and various Rule Advisory Committees for the Oregon Health Authority (OHA), where he helps shape the framework for Oregon’s legal psilocybin services.
Through the ongoing exploration of psychedelics across the globe and under the mentorship of inspirational teachers over the following eight years, Myles has developed a deep appreciation for both the power of the psychedelic experience itself and the neuroplasticity it fosters. This neuroplasticity helps individuals become open and receptive to things that otherwise feel out of reach or inaccessible due to the noise of our chaotic, technology-overloaded modern world. It has been pivotal in helping him and others make meaningful, lasting changes in the months following the psychedelic journey that once seemed impossible. He believes that knowing how to work with this neuroplasticity is key to using psychedelics as a tool to support the journey from ‘functioning’ to ‘flourishing.’
Myles’s own journey with psychedelics began at the age of 28 when he overcame his addiction to alcohol and lifted the fog of depression that had shrouded his life since the passing of his mother when he was 15. This profound experience revealed the incredible potential of psychedelics to facilitate deep healing and transformation. He is passionate and experienced in guiding individuals on their first therapeutic and inward psilocybin journeys. His goal is to help others not just make the changes they seek today but to embark on a conscious healing journey that transforms their lives.
With the Hi-U Foundation and Confluence Retreats – the nonprofit he founded and conducts his facilitation practice through – Myles utilizes his expertise to create nature-based, multi-modality psilocybin retreats within Oregon’s legal framework. These retreats are enhanced by partnerships with indigenous communities and are grounded in validated therapeutic practices, reflecting his dedication to facilitating profound personal growth and healing. At Omnia, he focuses on providing one-on-one client sessions, bringing elements of their transformative retreat experiences into a more traditional setting to maximize the therapeutic benefits of psilocybin.

Thundereater is a member of the indigenous Shasta Nation, White Eagle Clan. A 65-year old great grandfather, he has lived a very full life including serving in the US military abroad, working with plant medicines and many trainings in the realms of spirituality and healing. Most recently, by trade, he is a stone mason, and the visionary and creator of the Sacred Land’s magical Labyrinth.
As a Native American and Tibetan shaman, Thundereater has spent the last 20 years facilitating full moon healing circles at Mt. Shasta, California bringing together people of different cultures and religious frames of reference to promote the Peace and Healing of all.
Thundereater’s ancestors came to this Sacred Land (Ashland, Oregon) to heal to heal with the Hi-U-Skookum medicine, and he came to this land to play as a child. He has now returned as an Elder to help usher in the next iteration of the land’s journey and help preserve it as a place of healing for all in perpetuity.
Arin brings over a Arin brings over a decade of experience in professional psychedelic settings, from indigenous South American traditions to modern North American underground communities to industry leading psilocybin-assisted therapy centers.
However, what makes Arin truly qualified to support individuals in their personal practice with plant medicine is her own deeply embodied experience and commitment to her own personal practice. In addition to over 10 years of personal psychedelic experience with various plant teachers, within the last decade Arin has spent thousands of hours in intensive retreat and has studied with masters from the Peruvian Andes to the Nepalese Himalayas to the foothills of Northern India.
As a lifelong student of transformation Arin has also trained in some of the most effective integration-focused and consciousness-altering modalities from yoga, breathwork and meditation to coaching, somatic embodiment and various psychotherapeutic systems. She is also a devoted lifelong student-practitioner of Eastern nondual yoga.
In addition to bringing professional experience as a Certified Coach, Yoga Therapist, Reiki Master and psilocybin facilitator, Arin anchors her approach to transformation in the notion that one's dreams and desires are bound for inevitable fulfillment.
A notion poetically expressed by Danish author Karen Blixen:
“Nobody has seen the trekking birds take their way towards such warmer spheres as do not exist, or rivers break their course through rocks and plains to run into an ocean which is not to be found. For God does not create a longing or a hope without having a fulfilling reality ready for them. But our longing is our pledge, and blessed are the homesick, for they shall come home.”
Arin sees her primary role as a coach as simply supporting folks in stoking this fire of their deepest longings and coming home to themselves.

A Truly Transformative Experience
I attended a retreat with Confluence earlier this year to work through anxiety that I had struggled with for years. I had tried other treatments, but I knew I didn’t want to rely on medication for the rest of my life. I was nervous about the entire process—from being away from my family and friends to the treatment itself—but Myles and the entire team made me feel supported from the very first interview through the final integration session.
The team is incredibly warm, thoughtful, and well organized. Everything is carefully planned, and participants are thoroughly educated about what to expect. Having an agenda for the entire retreat helped me feel prepared and safe, especially when I was walking into something so unfamiliar.
The integration sessions were meaningful, spiritual, and incredibly valuable. The therapeutic centers themselves felt like peaceful spas—clean, calm, beautiful, and welcoming. Every facilitator, both with our group and at the center, was compassionate and supportive. Everyone’s experience is different, but the team handled each person’s journey with such care and grace.
And I have to mention the food! The personal chef prepared the most wholesome, delicious meals, and you could truly taste the love and thought that went into every dish. The cabins were clean, comfortable, and nestled in the most majestic forest setting. After a long day filled with so much newness, coming back to the cabin felt peaceful and comforting. My roommate ended up being one of my favorite parts of the experience, too!
Most importantly, I never felt like I was going through this alone. The support, preparation, and genuine care from Myles and the entire team made a huge difference in my experience.
Honestly, if I were rich, I would do this every year—a mental vacation, a reset, and an opportunity to reconnect with myself.
Thank you, Myles and the entire Confluence team, for creating such a thoughtful and supportive experience. I’m incredibly grateful I took the leap.

Ten years of practice, four years of therapy, and this is what moved it
I came in struggling, and I'd been struggling for a long time. I never understood my own trauma. What I could actually remember seemed too minor to be causing an effect that large, so I assumed I must be repressing something worse. That wasn't it. What happened on this retreat is that I experienced the pain emotionally instead of remembering it logically. I connected to it, gave it respect, acknowledged it properly for the first time — and that allowed me to release it. Ten years of serious wellness practice and three years of therapy had moved that only slightly. This moved it.
I've spent my career as an executive in the wellness industry, including as a trained practitioner at a luxury wellness center where we partnered with a very wide range of modalities and practitioners. I've seen a lot of programs. I don't say this lightly. I was impressed before I ever arrived — on the first Zoom call, the depth of experience on the team was immediately obvious. These are absolute professionals, not people improvising their way through profound work.
The single most important thing I can tell anyone considering this: the preparation and integration sessions are not extras. They are the program. A standalone experience is very difficult to extract real value from — something powerful can happen and then simply evaporate, because there's no structure to land it in. What this team has built around the journey multiplies the benefit several times over. If you're weighing this against a single one-off psilocybin session, you're not comparing like with like. It isn't the same thing at a different price point. It's a different thing entirely.
One practical recommendation: if you have a long-term therapist, you will get even more out of this. They already know you deeply, and they can help interpret the experience in a way that multiplies the benefit further. Bring it to them.
The group format is the other thing I'd underline. Sharing with strangers sounds awkward, and honestly it feels that way for about an hour. Then it becomes the secret ingredient. By the second day I was genuinely bonded with the people I was there with, and they with me. I can't imagine having done this alone. What the group gives you — the reflection, the recognition, the sense that you are not uniquely broken — is something a solo experience can't replicate. The facilitators know exactly how to hold that container.
It's also designed with real skill for both ends of the spectrum. Someone arriving with no experience is met properly. Someone arriving with experience, as I did, is not condescended to or handed a watered-down version. That's harder to pull off than it sounds.
Life-changing is an overused phrase. I'm using it deliberately.

I had an incredible experience with Confluence Retreats in 2025
As a DARE kid I had a lot of reservations and fear around taking psychedelics, but I became interested in doing a retreat when I felt like I was sinking in quicksand in my life and wasn't making much progress in therapy and meditation. From the start, the staff was very professional, caring, and down-to-earth, from the intake all the way to post-retreat and beyond. My group had people from all walks of life and everyone was treated with respect and understanding. The most impactful things about taking these journeys in a group/formal retreat were that I could finally access some long repressed (depressed?) feelings of human connection and safety, and that when the journey got rough, there was someone experienced who was there for me and coached me through it.
The retreat center and lodgings are beautiful settings surrounded by nature. Every location was imbued with a sense of peace and aliveness and was every bit as supportive as the human element. The food was also incredible, nourishing and delicious and cooked fresh each day by a wonderful private caterer.
If a psychedelic retreat is the right move for you, I cannot recommend Confluence highly enough. The support and care I received at each step truly made my experience as comfortable and safe as possible, and the insights I gained on my journeys are still unfolding to this day.

Wonderful experience!
I felt cared for which was HUGE having never done anything like this before. The staff was there in ways big and small and that helped so much. I would recommend Confluence to anyone who needs both a human experience and a spiritual one.
The cabins and grounds where we stayed were serene and comfortable. The food was amazing! Many dietary needs were accommodated - deliciously!
The facilities at the Omnia Group where we took our journeys was clean and the staff respectful and welcoming. The garden there made the space feel like a wonderful spiritual oasis.
I loved my time at the retreat and am so grateful that Confluence made that possible.
