About this Retreat

Rogelio was born in native comminity of Paoya to his father Inocencio Reátegui Serafim and his mother Isabel Canayo Sanacino. His father
and grandfather were also a healers.
His family moved to Masisea and he started his diet at the age 11. Rogelio grew up hearing his father and uncle sing Icaros, the healing songs, and by the time he turned 25, he has already dieted around many plants. For the first 7 years his preparation was purely with so called plantas del amor (love plants) or Nuirao in Shipibo. Some of the love plants Rogelio dieted are Numa nuirao - female plant, Chono nuirao - is associated with a little bird spirit, hasin nuirao - dog's tongue, kuru nuirao, abukuma nuirao, shawama nuirao - macaw love plant.
There are over 90 love plants, when it penetrates well into the body, it is used to attract something desirable. This way in the beginning he was dieting in order to be successful in fishing and hunting animals, tasks which are crucial for survival deep in the rainforest. Other love plants have properties to cleanse the mind, heal traumas, release sadness, agitatation, anxiety, and start generating positive qualities.
The spirits of the plants reveal themselves and penetrate deeper and deeper into the body as the dieta progresses. Dieta can start from 7 days and up to 90 days do the full potential of the plant to penetrate and give it's power to be used for healing oneself and others. Each plant has it's specific use an purpose, depending on personal circumstances the best suitable plant is recommended for the dieta.
At the age of 25, Rogelio started participating in ceremonies with other teachers and one day during a powerful Ayahuasca ceremony he was feeling the force of the medicine for 48 hours straight and that's when the spirits of the plants that he dieted so far revealed the secrets of how to work with them for healing and he discovered the strength of all the plants that were dieted. The plants also taught him how to help people with addictions to drugs like alcohol, marijuana and cocaine.
Rogelio dieted with the master trees palos like chiric sanango, shihuahuaco, lupuna blanca and ajosquiro. Plant spirits are the true teachers and they are the ones working through the healer and manifest in form of songs that through intonation reach the heart of the person who is feeling bad and clear the underlying energy that is causing it.

In addition to ayahuasca, the process will be facilitated by various master plants, in various ways such as plant baths, saunas, vomitivos.
The center is called Niwe Nete. Niwe in Shipibo means wind or air, but also symbolises the subtle world of spirit and energies. It's through this subtle world that the work of the curanderos takes place. By addressing the root of ailments on an energetic level, things begin to come into alignment on a physical and mental level also. The retreat is held on the families land in the Shipibo community of San Francisco de Yarinacocha, one hour north of Pucallpa.
Dieta
Depending on the nature of what one is hoping to achieve during the retreat, a dieta with a master plant may be prescribed. In this case, the length of the may need to be prolonged. Keeping in mind that the curanderos in this family themselves diet for months at a time, they generally recommend longer dietas over shorter ones to really open the way for the plant spirit to enter and transform your life. But they are also aware that a large percentage of the guests who come from abroad have a limited timespace, therefore they will work with each guest individually and come to the best solution for them. Certain plant dietas may be restricted as the maestros will not allow guests to diet them for a short space of time as it's considered dangerous.
There is the option of undergoing lighter dietas and in this case, it's possible to continue the dieta.

Directions
Our center is located 10 minutes motorcar ride away from the native community of San Francisco de Yarinacocha. In order to get here you have to fly to Pucallpa airport, which is one hour flight away from Lima. We can arrange the pick up from Pucallpa airport or agree upon different location if you decide to stay in a hotel in Pucallpa before coming here. The center is about 40 minutes drive from Pucallpa, the distance is not that great, but the road is not paved, so it takes longer.
Accommodation
At the moment we have 2 individual rooms and 3 bunk beds in a shared accommodation with a single bed, mattress, pillow, mosquito net and blanket. There are communal showers and shared toilet. Our water comes from a deep well and we use it for all our daily needs of washing and cooking.

This is a traditional Shipibo style ayahuasca retreat held in the indigenous community of San Francisco de Yarinacocha. As such, it does not conform to any one size fits all approach, each persons journey is unique and therefore their retreat protocol will be unique and guided by the curanderos. The aim of the curanderos is to assist you in undergoing a powerful and profound process of healing and transformation in the safest and most effective way possible.

Depending on the plant that you are going to diet, some foods are more or less compatible. Common things you have to live without during a dieta are heavy foods, spicy, oil, salt and sugar.
