My personal journey has been about overcoming my shyness, living with the presence of spirits since I was five years, self-judgments, insecurity and deaths. These experiences were guiding me towards opening my heart, strengthening my spirit and continuously creating a better version than the previous one. My first test was learning to live with my gifts of interacting with the spirits without feeling afraid or feeling that I am crazy, to understand that it is a beautiful tool. The second was to overcome the loneliness and rejection of many people for years, to accept my purity and my nobility. And the third was the deaths of loved ones like my father, grandfather, grandmother and going through the depths of pain and sadness. As a result of which, I created an inner diamond of unconditional love to myself and to all life.
The year 2000 I started in Reiki, then studied psychology and philosophy, bach flower remedies, NLP, ontological coaching, systemic coaching plus experience in ceremonies in Latin America and Europe with sacred medicines since 2011. My journey of twenty years working with over 5.000 people, today gives me strength and knowledge to accompany people in the best way: with closeness, warmth, love, excellence and humility.
I have developed a very strong bond with Ayahuasca, San Pedro and Magic Mushrooms. PERSONAL JOURNEY. My name is Alejandro Carbó and I am deeply passionate about creating beauty. Passion is nothing but love turned into action, it is the fire that guide us towards expressing who we really are. The product of that love, then, became Avalon. A great canvas where I paint with conscience and, together with a wonderful family, we trace colours, textures and shapes in order to share what has changed our lives and helps us create the highest version of ourselves.My personal story has three deep wounds and revelations, perhaps some of them we share. The first is the fear of suffering, of being hurt, and therefore transforming it into the acceptance of pain. The second is being trapped in the mind and the thoughts and therefore remembering to connect with my feelings and be in the present. The third is the attachment to my individuality and personal identity and therefore surrendering to the dissolution of my ego.After going through two years Neuro Linguistic Programming training, two months backpacking in north India, ten day Vipassana meditation program, and one year focused in nutrition and movement, in my process of self-knowledge the Great Spirit blessed me with the encounter with the sacred Ayahuasca. At this moment all the pieces of the chaotic puzzle of my life fell into place and made sense. PERSONAL JOURNEY: I was born in 1963 in Atiquizaya, El Salvador. I am a medical doctor from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Mexico in 1986 and I am in service since then. I post graduated in general surgeon from the Central University of Venezuela in 1999. I have experience in emergency surgery, shock trauma and laparoscopic surgery.
My path in the spiritual world begins with a near death experience in 2017, a heart attack. Since then I began to study thanatology -the study of death-, I investigated and innovated in neuroscience and found the best references on the study of the soul in Jewish Kabbalah.
Shortly after, in 2018, the sacred medicines completely changed the lives of me and my family members. Since then I have dedicated myself to observe and study the effects, benefits and contraindications with entheogenic substances specifically: Ayahuasca, Yopo, Jurema, Bufo Alvarius, Psilocybin, Iboga and also Kambó. Currently I advise a group of independent facilitators, to reduce risks and achieve more benefits with the proper use of these substances.
I have created the Kintsugi method. I have made multiple trips to many countries as a medical advisor, lecturer, teacher and as a facilitation supervisor. I consider that my humanistic and spiritual vision of health provides a transcendent approach to medicine that allows us to integrate multiple perspectives such as shamanic, allopathic and naturopathic.

PERSONAL JOURNEY: Growing up in a fairytale forest in Sweden I experienced the healing power of nature at an early age. With a curious and sensitive mind, I craved the balance between the stimulus of a big city and the healing source of nature. After burnout at twenty-five, I found healing in yoga and meditation and practice daily since 2011. The path of deep inner work and spiritual practice became my medicine.
Yoga and meditation felt like coming home to my body. A place where I could breathe and my anxious mind could go quiet. As I could feel the intense healing process after my burnout I went to classes four times a week.
After a challenge of daily practice 100 days in a row I studied a 1-year teacher training for the international ISHTA-yoga in Stockholm. Training with well-known teachers such as Swedish Ulrica Norberg and Sarah and Alan Finger from New York City. ISHTA stands for Integrated Science of Hata, Tantra, and Ayurveda. Finishing my training I went to an Ayurvedic Ashram in India to train with a traditional yoga master.
Always questioning everything I wondered what else there was in life than what was already pre-set for us in society. After realizing that the use of alcohol wasn’t serving me at all I quit and found that life was way richer than I thought -with all my senses fully onboard.
After moving to Barcelona I came in contact with plant medicines for the first time in 2021. Starting with Magic Mushrooms ceremonies. It has been a beautiful journey that led me to my first Ayahuasca ceremony in 2022, connecting me with divine love and gratitude.
Today my daily yoga and meditation practice is with me wherever I go and is a place for me to come back to the center. Understanding that everything I do with my body will have an impact on my mind, I’ve been trying different ways over the years to optimize my health and wellness. What time to go to sleep, what and when to eat, movement, and relationships - which lead me to my deep interest in biohacking. Be part of a modern reinterpretation of the San Pedro (Huachuma) ceremony. An offering to the four elements under the solstice sun, a sailing journey in Ibiza's magical waters. For experienced.
The use of Huachuma (the original Quechua pronunciation of the San Pedro cactus) is among the oldest of the ancestral psychoactive plants, dating back to 6.800 BCE. The name is attributed to the belief that just as St Peter holds the keys to heaven, the effects of the cactus allow users to reach heaven while still on earth.
This ceremony takes place within the summer solstice window — the three days around the longest day of the year, when the sun reaches the peak of its power. Huachuma is a sun medicine. Across Andean, Mexica and Mayan traditions, the summer solstice has been one of the most sacred ceremonial windows for millennia. To meet this medicine on the water, under the solstice sun, is to align with something far older than any of us.
San Pedro mesas and hikes in northern Peru and Ecuador are the most traditional ceremonial settings. We have created a modern reinterpretation of the original space of consciousness and reconnection with nature—a sailing journey in a 34-foot solar catamaran in Ibiza.

This was, without a doubt, one of the most incredible journeys I have ever experienced.

Life changing, safe, supportive organisation.
I have engaged with Avalon for 3 years to help with a major life event in my mid 20's involving my being seriously sexually and physically assaulted, the resulting police case lasting several years, and the aftermath when it ultimately failed.
I first engaged with plant medicine in 2022 with Arkana in Peru, and while I had a good experience, I was not able to sufficiently trust or submit, and the centre was maybe better geared for other types of people/trauma/experience.
I discovered Avalon as I live in the UK and could not mentally or financially afford to again travel to South America and not feel safe or sufficiently held, and Barcelona was close enough to test out the organisation; I'll be honest that I was not sure you could really provide ayahuasca medicine away from the jungle and had massive reservations.
Over 2 years I first engaged with 3 evening Bufo Alvarius ceremonies spaced 6 months apart, had very powerful positive effects, and each time was served by the same team who got to know me better.
Having gained trust I went for a 6 day Ayahuasca retreat in summer 2025 with my best friend for security. I would consider both my friend and I to be relatively vulnerable, both queer and carrying a lot of complex emotional issues to work on. The experience was so overwhelmingly safe and beautiful, I returned again alone last week to go deeper with the medicine on another 6 day retreat.
I could reinforce all the other 5* reviews re: food, accommodation, quality of shaman (really outstanding) etc. but the best / most important thing I can add is to seriously highlight how Avalon has supported me through the *entirety* of my journey, enabling me to gain a level of trust, so essential to work properly with these medicines on the kind of trauma I experienced.
They care *deeply* about the participants and are willing to stay with you in the long term. I need this kind of interaction and support, there was never going to be a quick one time fix and I was never looking for the "psychonaut experience" per se. The result is that I have gained a level of interaction and teaching from Ayahuasca I couldn't imagine, resulting in changes not just for my mental and physical health, but that of my family and friends - the highest praise I could possibly offer. I now have a life filled with positivity and hope, something that frankly seemed unachievable for years.
I hope this review reaches anyone who is nervous about engaging with a centre because you might feel the trauma you carry to be too exposing, that you have fears about safety and vulnerability or authenticity, or you had less positive experiences with other established organisations; Avalon are the real deal and have hard earned my trust, which ultimately is what's required when engaging with such an intense process. I will certainly be returning when the time is right and feel extremely lucky to be able to do so.
