Jungle meets mountain, Chavin in the center of the world. Journey with Huachuma and Ayahuasca, March 30 - April 7 2025
In my journey through the plant medicine, I’ve been asked to thread a new path: finding bridges and connections with other ancient rituals. The frozen Andes mountains feed the rivers of the Amazon, so naturally I was inspired to meet Huachuma (San Pedro). After several years, I found the oldest ritual of Chavin, ancient temple where the Cactus medicine started 4000 years ago.
I will introduce you to Huachuma in one week, with the Andean ritual through the night, with a trusted healer, Louis Marie. We will also connect to the jungle, through Ayahuasca with Geraldine. The Sacred Coca will join us in this amazing journey, heart opening, life changing and inspiring experience.

The LODGE
Louis Marie built his lodge according to ancient telluric principles. The kitchen uses organic vegetables from a circular garden. The river is a constant presence.
During the Huachuma ceremony, from dusk till dawn, we will journey through different places, from a ceremonial room to the fire, the river to the garden. San Pedro is connected to the top of the world, mountains, the four elements. Different doors and stages are unlocked with keys given by Huachuma through the Chavin ritual, a city we will also visit. Here, each mountain has its Apu, guardian spirit, joining us.
We will be located between Cordillera Blanca and Cordillera Negra, with Rio Santa at our feet.

CHAVIN
Chavin is located at 3150 m height, between two rivers. It was very active between 1000 and 500 BC, with pilgrims from different parts of South America visiting. In the 17th Century it reemerged and was described by Spanish scholars as important as Rome or Jerusalem, despite a difficult access.
A great part of the site is below the earth, with meandering galleries. Stones are carved with half-human, half-animal figures. The tunnels suddenly change height, curve drastically or lead to a dead-end. Vents carry the sound of the pututo, big shells blowed into, and other instruments. Carvings depict a procession carrying an enormous San Pedro cactus (Huachuma). Jaguars, birds, crocodiles show the transformation of man into animal during
psychotropic intake.
In the center below, an enormous stone totem, the Lanzón, is placed in such a way that you cannot apprehend it completely on one side. A famous

stella was carved with thin lines for an intended blurred effect. It is only under the effects Huachuma that you can understand the whole image. Images have to be understood gradually, in stages.
During the week, we will do
Pagos (donations to the earth) at key locations, we will go to indigenous hot baths, to Chavin. We will start with Huachuma, the resident plant spirit, and finish the week with Ayahuasca: from the mountain to the jungle.
We will be threading in Coca land, Inca medicine, so she will be part of a routine intake and very active during ceremonies.

LOGISTICS
- Bring warm clothes but also tee-shirts. It’s sunny in the morning, rains in the afternoon, and cold at night.

- For thermal baths you need swimming gear. Trekking trousers are a good choice. For the Huachuma ceremony we will be outside a lot - ponchos are fine, maybe also an under trouser legging (like peasant old thermal pajamas), to sit on the grass at night. You will find nice Alpaca ponchos at Lima airport (light and warm).
- The lodge is very comfortable, with wi-fi, organic sopa. The closest village is Carhuaz. This regions doesn’t have many tourists - nobody will speak English, and some only Quechua.
- No vaccination necessary, no malaria. There is a risk of altitude sickness: this shall pass in its own time. We’ve tried to make sure you adapt well and gradually.
- You can change euro directly at the lodge, for the best market rates.
OUR HUACHUMA HEALER
Louis Marie came to live to Peru 20 years ago, and founded his family here. He studied Agronomy, then created a bio energetic technique to grow different crops. He became passionate about Andean cosmology, its mountains, plants and animals. In 2012 he connected very strongly with Huachuma and the ancient Chavin ritual that allowed him to understand better the mystery of Andean maestros. He started to partake the medicine with his community and then was led to create connections and share the ritual with others, to reconnect the knowledge of an ancient and ancestral Andean medicine with europeans. The lodge was built with the same vision, creating a place energised by medicine. He is very thorough with the offerings to the different Apus, prepares Huachuma connecting with the elders of the sacred mountains of the valley, in harmony with the mysteries of the invisible Andean world.

Extending your stay at the lodge
An ask to extend your stay at the lodge and discover wonderful trekking routes nearby to visit frozen lakes and glaciers. The lodge will organise everything for you. After this week, you will be adapted to the altitude and can climb to 5800 meters if you wish. This is why we recommend that you don’t arrive earlier but stay later to enjoy the surroundings, when your body is ready: Laguna Rocotuyoc, Punta Olimpica, Laguna 69, Pastoruri.
A must see, Punta Olimpica
