Founder of African Spiritual Events & Retreats
Akua is Psychedelic Guide & Healing Advocate with nearly 10 years experience.
She is based in Ghana, West Africa where she specializes in Ayahuasca guidance and complementary healing modalities. She and her team brew Ayahuasca using only Caapi Vine and Chacruna leaves grown in Ghana.
She leads / curate 1to1 and group ceremonies in Ghana.
She is a vocal advocate of psychedelics and have shared insights at Breaking Convention, (Europe largest Psychedelic Science Conference, Oxford University, UCL, and various international platforms. She also serves on Breaking Convention's management board.
Akua's journey began when traditional interventions failed her teenage son after he was groomed into drug dealing in London. Through psychedelics and African spiritual practices, She found healing where conventional approaches couldn't reach. Today, she bridges ancestral wisdom with contemporary healing—creating pathways to transformation for others.
Akua comes from a long line of healers going back at least 500 years. Her grandfather Nana Adjapong was one of the priests who served the Asante Nation during the reign of King Prempeh I before the King was exiled by the British to the Seychells. Nana Adjapong went on to serve during the Yaa Asantewaa war with the British in 1900. Akua is also the niece of Christian healer: the late Maame Defou Rose Fosu, founder of Church of Grace International in Ghana, UK, USA & India.
Dodzi is a Ghanaian traditional healer & Sound healer
Tdr Dodzi Agbenafa is a master Ghanaian traditional healer and accomplished sound healer who bridges ancestral healing practices with innovative therapeutic modalities - his unique background as an equestrian healer brings an understanding of the deep connection between humans, animals, and the natural world, enriching his approach to traditional African healing with insights from working with horses as co-healers and teachers of presence, trust, and energetic sensitivity.
During our 7 day retreat, Dodzi will be leading us in sound healing sessions using instruments. He will lead us in clay, fire & water rituals at the different water bodies in the Volta Region.
He will lead workshops in how to connect to & show reverence to the water bodies & spirits: The sea, rain, rivers, waterfalls & lakes.
Dodzi is the owner of our retreat home, AgbeNoir resort on the banks of the Black River Volta in the Volta region in Ghana, West Africa.
Dodzi is also a diviner, herbalist & dream interpreter. and a public on various topics regarding natural healing and spiritualism, and consults regularly on the following:
