Details of this retreat

Learning Reiki in a retreat setting enables you to fully immerse yourself in this healing energy. The retreat will take place in Kyoto, the traditional heart of Japan, home of Reiki and host to the famous torii gate shrine, golden pavilion and many temples and gardens, where we can walk in Sensei Usui’s footsteps.

The highlight of our visit will be a day trip to Mount Kurama, the birthplace of Reiki, where Sensei Usui meditated for 21 days and received the Reiki energy. Kurama has many spots of high energy vibration. We will hike up to the top of the sacred mountain and meditate where Sensei Usui meditated.

This will be an unforgettable physical and spiritual journey!

The supportive and focused retreat setting allows you to take Reiki I (beginner) and Reiki II (practitioner) in one week. Each day you will meet up with other students for class. The course content will be spread out throughout the week, with about 3 hours teaching each day, and on successful completion of both levels you will be qualified to work as a Reiki Practitioner.

Schedule

Each morning you will make your way to our classroom and we will spend about 3 hours learning, practising and experiencing Reiki. You will receive at least 25 hours of teaching, and an attunement for each level.
We may eat lunch as a group, or you can find lunch in a local restaurant or konbini.
After lunch we will go sightseeing, or take a relevant class such as calligraphy and a zen meditation.
After the afternoon activity you will have free time to explore Kyoto’s many restaurant and izakaya, or maybe you would like to try on a kimono or visit temple with it’s garden beautifully illuminated.
In the evening we might meet for a group activity or Reiki share, you could visit a bathhouse, go shopping or use the classroom for some quite study, meditation or yoga.
Note: Schedule is approximate and may change
