About this Retreat
Angelika is a psychotherapist and certified psychedelic research therapist. She works in clinical research in London and supports international studies as an Adherence Rater. She is involved in international clinical trials, mentors therapists in psychedelic studies in Poland, and runs a private practice. With extensive training in psychedelic-assisted therapy and experience with substances like psilocybin and 5-MeO-DMT, she combines traditional therapy with mindfulness and tools from expanded states of consciousness. Her approach creates a safe, grounded space for healing and personal growth. Angelika also has a background in retreats and integration work. She’s a public speaker and actively involved in projects that support women and help their voices be heard in mental health and beyond.
Lilia Popgancheva is a psychoanalyst working with individuals and groups in her private practice. A member of the Bulgarian Society for Psychoanalysis and Group Analysis (an accredited training institute) and the British Transpersonal Association, she bridges classical and transpersonal approaches.
Lilia facilitates individual psychedelic-assisted therapy sessions, working with psilocybin mushrooms and other consciousness-expanding modalities. Her integrative method combines somatic, spiritual, and psychotherapeutic techniques to support transformation.
She is the author and facilitator of the psychological training, part of the retreat Plan to Be in Bulgaria, a 10-day immersive program now in its 15th edition. Lilia is a public speaker who advocates for innovative approaches to mental health, self-awareness, and mindful social engagement.
Beyond her clinical work, she is a beekeeper, kitesurfer, and student of traditional Bulgarian healers, learning about indigenous plant medicine and healing practices.
Tibor is a psychodynamic psychotherapist and psychedelic guide. He came to this work through his own journey of healing, and remains deeply moved by the psyche’s innate drive toward wholeness. His approach is rooted in psychodynamic theory, attachment, and trauma-informed care, offering a space for deep insight and lasting change.
A member of the Guild of Guides, Tibor has trained in psychedelic integration and harm reduction with the Psychedelic Society, Clerkenwell Health, the British Transpersonal Association, Stanislav Grof, and Gabor Maté. He co-facilitates LGBTQ retreats in the Netherlands, creating safe, affirming spaces for self-discovery and healing in community.
With a background in teaching postgraduate psychodynamic counselling, Tibor brings both clinical rigour and soulful presence to his work. He is passionate about bridging psychotherapy, research, and advocacy to support the ethical and transformative use of psychedelics in mental health.
Details of this retreat
Our 5-day immersive retreat is designed to offer a structured yet fluid experience, allowing participants to explore their inner landscapes safely and meaningfully.
At Syntara Retreats, the process begins with an application where we carefully assess each participant’s suitability, ensuring there are no contraindications for a safe and beneficial experience. If we see no obstacles, we invite you to preparation phase.
From there, we begin the essential process of cultivating the right mindset and foundation for the retreat. This includes a meeting with our team, followed by one-on-one and group preparation sessions. These meetings help you clarify your intentions, address any concerns, and allow us to start building a connection, both with us facilitators and the fellow participants.
By the time we arrive at the retreat, we aim to have established a caring and trusting relationship, allowing you to step into the experience feeling supported, understood, and ready for deep exploration and transformation.
