About this Retreat
My name is Mar (short for Marketa), and I'm a podcast manager, marriage officiant, vegan, consciousness expansion practitioner, and retired globe-trotter.
My journey around the world led me to explore the most sacred place of all: the inner self.
For the past 6 years, I've been on a deep transformational journey, and now I'm on a mission to show others what is possible in terms of self-development, cultivating awareness, and living life from a place of love and true authenticity.
I've worked through my own struggles for many years and created a life that I never even imagined was possible. And I simply can't keep all of that to myself.
I believe in honoring the natural cycles of the earth. Winter is not the time to push or strive but a season for stillness, reflection, and quiet renewal. It is an invitation to pause, to let go, and to create space for what is to come. The true work of growth begins in spring, when nature awakens and calls us to rise with it. This retreat is not about doing more but about aligning with the wisdom of the seasons and trusting that rest is as essential as action.
Details of this retreat
Start 2026 with clarity, calm, and confidence.
Experience the power of closing one year and welcoming the next with intention, presence, and joy.
Join us on the wild and mystical island of São Miguel in the Azores for a 5-day retreat created for those who wish to enter the new year with clarity, renewal, and connection.
As winter holds us in its quiet embrace, this retreat is an invitation to reflect on what has passed and to step into what is to come.
This intimate retreat is both a celebration and a pause. It is a time to honor the passage of time, to reconnect with yourself, and to welcome the year ahead with clarity and openness.
Through mindful practices, nature explorations, and a special New Year’s Eve celebration, we will create memories that carry meaning beyond the days we share.
The program & practices
Each morning, we will gather for grounding practices that awaken the body and soften the mind. Through gentle stretching and meditation, we will connect with the natural rhythms of nature and prepare ourselves for the day with clarity and intention. These practices are open to all levels, inviting both steadiness and freedom of expression.
Afternoons are dedicated to reflection, journaling, outdoor activities, and immersion in the raw beauty of São Miguel. Together we will welcome the final days of the year, release what no longer serves us, and create rituals of renewal that prepare us to step gracefully into what is to come in the next chapter of our lives.
PS: The retreat capacity is only 4-6 women to keep the retreat intimate and personal.
The food
For us, food is a celebration of life. Each meal is lovingly prepared with mostly seasonal, local ingredients, highlighting the abundance of the Azores. Expect vibrant, nourishing dishes that carry both comfort and freshness, designed to ground you and energize you.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be served daily, along with light & healthy snacks and drinks to keep you feeling well cared for.
The island
São Miguel is a place where volcanic landscapes meet endless horizons of the ocean. Hot springs, crater lakes, lush forests, and black-sand beaches form the backdrop of our days together. This island holds a rare balance of wildness and serenity, inviting both exploration and deep rest.
We will share intentional outings in nature, weaving the beauty of the island into our retreat experience. During free time, you may choose to venture further or simply rest and let the land’s quiet power hold you.
The weather
Winter in the Azores carries a sense of renewal. The air is fresh and alive, with mild temperatures that invite outdoor exploration as well as cozy moments indoors.
Rain can visit the island more frequently at this time of the year, nourishing the land and adding to the atmosphere of reflection and rebirth. It is the perfect season to pause and begin anew.
Make sure to bring a raincoat and a warm sweater to stay cozy in the evening.
Disconnect & reconnect
Step away from screens and daily distractions to fully immerse yourself in the present.
This retreat offers space to disconnect from phones and external pressures, allowing you to reconnect with yourself, your intentions, and the beautiful nature around you.
