About this Retreat

Details of this retreat

Hosted by Mirabai Ceiba's Angelika Baumbach & Friends, this retreat is a place for women to learn and share the wisdom of water in a community of women.

-------
Dear Sisters,

Water is a place where we are home in our inner worlds. Water is a reflection of our inner nature as women—fluid, adaptable, and powerful in its softness.

I warmly invite you to join us for a Waking Woman Retreat: 'In Water's Mirror' at Mahai Retreat in Mahahual, Mexico, March 19 to 25, 2026, where we will gather at the ocean’s edge to embrace the wisdom of water.

- Angelika Baumbach

In Water's Mirror

Water, from the perspective we offer in this retreat, is a space that contains us in a loving and powerful way, with all that we are in this moment. With our stories, which we have kept within us, from the time in our mother's womb until now.

Water has the quality of containing us, in such a way that the separation between our physical body and everything else dissolves in an embrace, bringing us back to the memory of the safe space of our mother's womb. This tends to awaken old memories, some very painful. And through surrendering to the embrace of water, these memories merge at times, dissolving from the confinement in which they have existed.

As we emerge from the water, and having touched deep things within us, we give them freedom through various creative forms of collective expression, realizing that our pain and our joys are shared.

From that space, we can always weave ourselves together again.

Our Time Together
Through our guided practices, we will turn our challenges into healing:

Daily rituals in water that nurture transformation.

-Live music every day.
- Healing aquatic therapy sessions in our beautiful salt pool and the ocean, led by special guest Denisse Tatemura, an expert in Janzu, Watsu, and aquatic healing modalities.
- Space to share stories, connect deeply, and learn from each other as women.
- Poetry, story telling, women's rites of passage.

As we navigate life’s transitions—our changing bodies, hormones, and stages of life—we will discover the strength in flowing together.

This week is an invitation to transform wounds into creativity and to rediscover the song and dance within you, under the stars and beside the waves.

You’ll be guided to:
- Trust your innate power to heal.
- Feel supported and held in a safe and nurturing circle of women.
- Reconnect with the elements and your true essence.
- Spaces are limited, so I encourage you to reserve your spot early to ensure your place in this transformative journey.

I hope you’ll join us for this incredible week of healing, learning, and sisterhood by the water.
