Kimberly S. Carter Thomas, M.A., M.S.,L.P.C.-C is a graduate of Texas Southern University and Mid America Christian University. In addition to her degrees in the field of psychology and counseling, she took a Doctor of Ministry from the Houston Graduate School of Theology. She worked for 11 years with children and youth from pre-K through 12 as a school psychometrist. For 25 years, she has served as a professor of Behavior Science teaching courses in Psychology and Biblical studies. She has two units of certification as a clinical pastoral educator through the University of Oklahoma Health System where she provided counseling to individuals and families in crises and trauma-induced medical situations. Kimberly works from a systemic, collaborative, strength-based approach that is mindful of cultural, ethnic and economic influences. Kimberly believes that everyone has the potential to live brighter and better lives. And through the assistance of techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered approaches, solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, and mindfulness, clients can experience hope, health, and healing.
