Why study with them?

Adam Stone is a registered Maine guide, and practicing bilingual international guide. The Maine guide test is the oldest guide test in the United States of America, and the most respected and needed as maine has the largest forests in the lower 48 states. A Maine Guide registration means that they have passed a background felony test, and has no felonies. It also includes lost person scenarios, Navigation, understanding of nature, and wilderness emergency medicine. Adam Stone is also a certified Wilderness First Responder trained with SOLO, and has been for over 20 years. Adam Stone is also a certified lifeguard over 20 years. Adam has apprenticed with Master Maine guides who are inspired by native american Micmac, and carry the turtle lineage. At this school Earthways, he participated in many expeditions, and retreats. As well as spriritual traditions of the micmac such as sweat lodges, sacred pipe and shamanistic meditations. In 2003 adam traveled to the Peruvian amazon and began working with a jungle guide there. My first expedition was also an ayahuasca retreat traveling by boat to shipibo villages, beaches and reserves with local jungle guide Gilber Reategui. Afterward I purchased 19 hectares on Yarina cocha lake and began our retreat center. Adam also traveled and trained at other centers such as Takiwasi, and Kapitari. We built our first small maloka at Tierravida before my daughter was born in 2007. She was born with a midwife on the land at Tierravida, her mother Shipiba from Paoyong. We built our larger Maloka in 2007. I have trained with Shipibo Onaya Shamans. My first Elder teacher was Antonio from alto Rio Pisque, a remote shipibo village. I also apprenticed with Benjamin Mahua an elder respected for his contributions to Ayahuasca shamanism, who is now over 100 years old. I have worked with many well respected Shipibo Shaman Onaya. I have worked with the medicine for over 20 years. Training with Elder meastros. I have worked with Benjamin Mahua, Antonia, Gilberto Mahua, Inis, Juanita SIlva, Manuela Mahua, Olivia, Alejandra, Orlando Magin, Meastro Miguel Ochavano, and more. I have been given permission by my elders to practice on my own, but i choose to work with Shipibo Onaya elders in all my retreats. As a guide I find the best Onaya for the clients or groups needs. I am also an outdoor educator for youth. Teaching youth nature connection skills, and leading expeditions. My outdoor education program includes survival skills, firebuiliding, navigation, machete use, plants edible and medical, nature crafts, tracking, shelter building community buliding skills and nature connection.
