Why study with them?

Teacher & Practitioner | Omkaya & Spirit of Kambo

Michael is a teacher, practitioner, and facilitator within Omkaya and Spirit of Kambo. He carries the field with calm presence, integrity, and heart, creating a space in which people feel safe to slow down, open, and meet themselves honestly. His work is grounded, attentive, and deeply human.

His journey into plant medicine began after a life-changing accident. Michael started exploring the healing potential of natural medicines and conscious microdosing, not as an escape, but as a way to truly listen to his body, his nervous system, and the deeper layers of healing that Western approaches often overlook. This period marked the beginning of a new path, one rooted in responsibility, curiosity, and lived experience.

From there, his path unfolded naturally. Michael went on to work within several respected institutions in the field of holistic care and plant-medicine-informed support, where his understanding of the bridge between Eastern wisdom, indigenous knowledge, and Western healthcare continued to deepen. He holds a clear conviction that plant medicine, when approached with integrity and guidance, can play an essential role in the development of a more holistic and humane vision of healthcare in Western society.

His work is further grounded through his time in the Amazon, where he joined a jungle journey with Spirit of the Jaguar and The Peaceful Warrior. In a traditional setting, he worked intensively with plant medicines, moving through his own layers of healing, confrontation, and remembrance. These experiences were not about collecting knowledge, but about learning how to serve the work with humility, clarity, and respect.

Alongside his role as facilitator, Michael is a co-investor and co-builder of Onca Takara in Peru, where a new space is currently being developed for deepening, training, and ceremonial work. Within Onca Takara Organization, he plays a leading role in the Netherlands, supporting and expanding the Facilitator School and the Kambo Practitioner Academy, while remaining closely connected to the work in Peru.

Michael has a natural way of holding space. He reads processes with sensitivity and steadiness, without force or agenda, and guides people safely through whatever arises. His strength does not lie in techniques or titles, but in presence. And it is from this presence that he teaches.
