Why study with them?

Lisa Roll, LPC, BC-DMT, RYT200 is a licensed mind/body therapist at Samaritan Counseling Center, a board-certified Dance/Movement Therapist, trained in EMDR, and a certified yoga instructor. Lisa is known for her somatic approach, helping individuals transform personal issues into meaningful insight and balancing emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. She utilizes Somatic Therapy, ‘soma’ meaning body, and Eye Movement Desensitization which are considered top approaches for the treatment of trauma. Somatic Therapy helps to restore the body as a place of safety, to process emotions, and to restore compassion to oneself and to the world.

Lisa offers techniques for self-regulation through embodied practices, conscious breathwork, and mindful movement. Mindfulness is a state of being aware of one’s sensory experience, thoughts and feelings, and research shows it as being one of the most effective methods for regulating the nervous system. The benefits include reducing stress hormones, managing anxiety, promoting emotional stability, and improving mood.

Lisa leads retreats and classes on Embodied Practices and Relational Skills that calm the mind, soothe the nervous system, and promote radiant well-being. She has presented at conferences and international settings, and she is passionate about sharing skills that increase day-to-day joy and easeful living. Lisa creates workshops for specialty groups and may be reached at Samaritan Counseling, 918-336-1463, www.samaritanbartlesville.org.
