Nicholas Collura

About the Teacher

Why study with them?

Dr. Nicholas Collura, DMin, BCC is an Enneagram teacher, spiritual director, retreat and workshop leader, and board-certified interfaith chaplain who currently directs Radius, an ethics program at MIT that challenges uncritical narratives of technological progress. In his early years, he studied film and literature at Yale University and the University of Paris. After earning his MDiv at Boston College, he also trained at the CG Jung Institute of New England and at the California Institute of Integral Studies & Center for Psychedelic Therapies and Research. Nicholas spent several years as a Jesuit and then as a palliative care chaplain and chaplain manager in Philadelphia. In addition to his current work at MIT, he teaches spiritual care, developmental psychology, climate chaplaincy, and more at Villanova University and the BTS Center.

Nicholas is a certified teacher in the Narrative Enneagram tradition and is currently adapting his doctoral dissertation at Fordham — which situated the Enneagram in the context of contemporary research in personality psychology and neuroscience — into a book. His climate organizing work with faith-based communities in the United States has also led to a relationship with the Catholic Church in northern Peru, and his next book project is a study of what Christian eco-spirituality can learn from Upper Amazonian plant medicine traditions.
