About the Teacher
Why study with them?
Born and raised in the stunning landscapes of New Zealand, my journey with adventure sports began early—surfing at 15 and mountain biking at 17. In 2003, I brought my passion for biking to Canada, and by 2007, I founded BettyGoHard Action Sports Community, empowering women to build confidence on and off their bikes. My coaching career continued to grow with the establishment of Kootenay Mountain Biking in 2010.
As a PMBIA Level 2 bike instructor with over 16 years of experience and a 40-hour wilderness first aid certification, I’m committed to guiding others through physical pursuits that help break through barriers in life. This philosophy also shapes the discussions on my podcast, *Riding In the Weeds*, where we explore how to move out of life’s ruts using lessons from sports.
Over the last three winters, I’ve made Cerritos, Mexico, my home, blending the skills I’ve honed snowboarding in Canada with my love for surfing. This beautiful beach has become a sanctuary where I find balance, practicing yoga to align my adrenaline-driven side with a mindful, slower pace.
My teaching style is a unique mix of skills coaching and life guidance, designed to help you connect with your why, rediscover the joy these activities bring, and envision a greater version of yourself—whether on the bike, board, or mat.
I live life out of the box, splitting my time between Mexico and Canada in my camper with my 100-pound Bernadoodle. I’m a strong, fit woman who doesn’t conform to societal norms, recognized for my leadership in business, and driven by a commitment to personal growth. In my downtime, I dive into fantasy books, stay active, and enjoy a healthy, fulfilling lifestyle, showing that confidence comes from embracing who you are and living life on your own terms.
