Dr. Lela Mosemghvdlishvili
About the Teacher
Why study with them?
Dr. L. (Lela) Mosemghvdlishvili (they/she) is a contemplative educator and facilitator with two decades of experience at the intersection of inner work, academic inquiry, and embodied practices. Their training integrates many ways of knowing. They currently divide their time between teaching at the University of Amsterdam and supporting psychedelic facilitation and training.
Lela’s path with entheogenic (psychedelic) medicines began in 2004 through personal work during a period of grief. This grew into underground psilocybin facilitation from 2010 to 2017, supporting individuals and small groups. Alongside this, they apprenticed in ayahuasca facilitation with Shipibo healers and learned to carry Kambo medicine in the Matses tradition.
Lela also co-founded and served on the board of the Amsterdam Psychedelic Research Association (2017–2022), contributing to the destigmatization of research, education, and public dialogue around psychedelics. Since 2023, Lela has been part of the Synthesis Institute as faculty and a learning facilitator, later also joining the immersion retreats.
Outside the psychedelic facilitation field, Lela works at the University of Amsterdam as a lecturer and teacher trainer, committed to humanizing education and bringing more embodied and contemplative learning methods into university teaching.
A significant part of Lela’s life is devoted to the study and practice of Anuyoga and Ati Yoga in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. She is a translator for Lama Lena Yeshe Kaytub, bringing non-dual teachings into her mother tongue, Georgian. Lela is also an authorized Feeding Your Demons® facilitator.
Across these different domains, the most essential for Lela is a non-judgmental, open presence that supports individuals in recognizing their innate nature.
