About the Teacher
Why study with them?
I come from an island off the coast of Honduras, where my Cuban grandmother taught me to work with ancestral spirits. I’ve worked with healing elements in nature since childhood, and Omisaide is the spiritual name my elders gave me in ceremony.
As an immigrant, I’ve had to relearn how to live connected to an inherent sense of belonging and worthiness. My journey has instilled in me a commitment to help others reconnect to this birthright of knowing we belong. I've worked with individuals, families and organizations in the U.S. and Latin America for over thirty years, and I practice what I teach.
I hold degrees, certifications, and/or years of practice in somatics, breathwork, dance, psychology, dialogue skills, collaborative leadership, dreamwork, creative writing, pain management, mindfulness and meditation.
Going on retreat with me will allow us to practice deeply together while being in the same physical field with the elements that have taught and guided both me and my ancestors. The result of these immersive journeys have been life-changing for me and those who travel with me.
The element I work with most is water, and I have a special lifetime relationships with the Caribbean Sea, the Pacific Ocean, and the many rivers in and near Humboldt County, where I currently live. I also have longstanding relationships with many tropical islands, mountains and the tallest trees in the world (coastal redwoods). Our retreats take place in locations where I am deeply connected, mostly places where I've lived a while.
