Brigitte Kolibab

About the Teacher

Why study with them?

Brigitte is a Brooklyn-based yoga instructor, artist, and retreat leader with a passion for deep, transformative experiences. Her journey with yoga began at 15 in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and has since evolved into an immersive practice that blends movement, breathwork, and meditation with creative expression and philosophy.

Her formal training includes a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Raja Yoga in Philadelphia and a 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Rishikesh Yogkulam in India, where she studied Anatomy, Physiology, Yoga Philosophy, Sanskrit, Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Meditation, Restorative Asanas, Yoga Therapy, and Marma Points. She also studied meditation at the Himalayan Institute, deepening her understanding of breathwork, mindfulness, and the science of stillness.

Brigitte’s teaching journey has taken her around the world—leading classes and retreats in Colombia, Bali, Italy, Turkey, and beyond. She first began teaching in 2014 after earning her certification and went on to lead large group classes at Temple University in Philadelphia, where she also co-founded a mindfulness meditation program at the Independence Blue Cross Recreation Center. Over five years, she guided hundreds of students through practices that encouraged presence, self-awareness, and resilience.

Now, as the founder of BK Honest Yoga, Brigitte teaches in Brooklyn and leads immersive retreats in breathtaking locations. Her approach is deeply personal, raw, and rooted in the belief that yoga is more than movement—it is a pathway to self-discovery. Whether guiding students through dynamic asana, breathwork, or silent meditation, she creates a space where transformation feels both accessible and inevitable.
