Why study with them?
Collin Hoctor is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a foundation in existential philosophy and a graduate degree in transpersonal psychology. His clinical work bridges traditional psychotherapy with somatic and psychedelic-assisted modalities, including ketamine-assisted psychotherapy and psilocybin research. Collin has held leadership roles in both inpatient and outpatient treatment settings, including serving as Clinical Director at a dual-diagnosis residential facility in California. Now based in Washington State, he works in private practice and in collaboration with integrative psychiatric clinics to support clients undergoing transformational healing experiences.
Collin’s approach is deeply relational and grounded in the understanding that healing happens in connection—with oneself, with others, and with the natural world. He draws from relational therapy, somatic practices, and mindfulness-based perspectives to help clients cultivate awareness, integrate life experiences, and reconnect with a sense of purpose and belonging. His work is informed by a deep respect for the complexity of the human condition and a belief in each person’s innate capacity for growth and restoration.
Collin is especially interested in the movement from an internal, self-referential focus—common in many traditional psychotherapeutic models—toward an orientation that honors the relational field between the individual and the world around them. He believes that true healing often arises not solely from introspection, but through co-regulation within attuned relationships, including those with the natural environment. By supporting clients in reconnecting with the more-than-human world—through sensory awareness, seasonal rhythms, and embodied presence—Collin invites a restoration of belonging that can soothe nervous system dysregulation and deepen a sense of aliveness. This ecological perspective weaves together psychological insight with the grounded wisdom of the earth.
