Why study with them?

Isis Rodriguez is an internationally recognized artist from San Francisco California of Mexican and Puerto Rican descent. She received her Bachelors of Fine Art in Painting from the University of Kansas, in 1988, with complimentary studies in mythology, religion, philosophy and psychology. Isis was selected to work on her M.F.A at the San Francisco Art Institute where she emerged into art world as a feminist pop artist in the early 90's.

In 2007, she was awarded a 6 month artist residency at La Curtiduria in Oaxaca de Juarez to explore the ancient Nahua concept of "nepantla", meaning "in the middle of things." From this concept she chose to be a contemporary myth painter to talk about ancestral trauma, it's conflict moving toward resolution and healing. As a result, Isis was chosen to be part of the prestigious Cervantino Art Festival in 2007 in Guanajuato Mexico and continues to promote spiritual health and well being thru her nepantlic art.

Isis Rodriguez has been teaching art for over 20 years with students of all ages from children, teens at risk, adults and the elderly. She has also been an art professor in drawing, painting and digital arts at various museums, institutions and cultural centers.

She now lives in San Miguel full time where she has opened up an artist retreat to educate those who are curious and have a passion for art and healing. She continues to create nepantlic art for international art exhibits to promote art as imagery of spirituality and well being. Her favorite healers are Abraham Hicks, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Sadhguru, Mooji, Ester Perel, Brit Hartley, Gloria Anzaldúa, Maria Sabina, just to name a few.

Isis is bilingual in Spanish and English and welcomes all levels from beginning to advanced.
