About the Teacher
Why study with them?
Hi! I’m Mayra — passionate and endlessly curious about the rhythms of nature, of which we are part.
I’m devoted to a living exploration at the intersection of body-based practices and nervous system research.
As a somatic facilitator, I create spaces for consciousness exploration through intuitive movement, sensory development, and play.
I believe there is a radical sovereignty in allowing the body to become a portal of guidance, intuition and creativity.
The most reliable and empowering resource we have is already within us - the space from which we experience the universe.
Since 2021, I’ve explored how psychedelics can support deep self-knowledge and transformation. Over the years, I’ve closely learned to hold space with different entheogens, guided by wisdom keepers.
This path nurtured my vision of how sensory experience shapes consciousness — leading me to focus on the body as a channel of essential information, accessible as we navigate the layers of perception, feeling, and being.
Since 2022, I’ve been part of contact improvisation trainings and in 2024 I participated in Butoh Sanctuary Residence at Oaxaca, México. Today I direct my project Bosquedentro, blending somatics, sensory development, and relational research. I design workshops rooted in embodiment practices such as contact dance, experimental movement, poetics, journaling and sharing circles.
