About the Teacher

Why study with them?

When I was around thirty, I began experiencing serious menstrual issues. My doctor recommended a hysterectomy and advised me not to sit on the floor or lift anything heavier than three kilograms. Around that time, low bone density led to five fractures—most painfully, a spinal compression fracture that occurred simply when I kicked my scooter’s stand. I also struggled with stress incontinence and was told surgery would have a low success rate and likely need repeating in five years.

Instead, I was referred to yoga. A radiologist warned me to avoid crowds and even gave me a copy of the Bhagavad Gita, suggesting I stay home and read. By age thirty-five, my left knee was deteriorating, and I finally embraced yoga as my path to healing. Within weeks of practice, I felt my strength returning and the fractures beginning to mend. A doctor friend introduced me to meditation to manage anxiety, so I attended a ten-day Vipassana retreat—and returned again a year later. Each retreat brought me deeper peace, and what once felt like debilitating illness transformed into a blessing that gave my life new purpose.

Today, I guide my students with compassion, sharing the practices that restored my health and helped me find balance, resilience, and inner calm.
