Caya Shobo is a genuine healing centre – dedicated to providing deeply transformative healing and spiritual growth to guests from all walks of life, in close accordance with the Shipibo plant medicine healing tradition.

We work only with highly experienced Shipibo Maestro and Maestra curanderos who carry advanced knowledge for working with Ayahuasca and Master Plant Dieta.

We welcome you to visit Caya Shobo at any time of year to experience the powerful medicine of Ayahuasca and receive care and guidance from our expert facilitators and practitioners. Our maestros will design a unique plant medicine treatment program according to your personal needs, time availability and budget.

Located conveniently just 45 minutes drive from the historic Amazonian city of Iquitos, or 20 minutes drive from Iquitos airport. We also offer Spanish translation support for English, Russian and French speaking guests.

Our beautiful new Maloka offers ample space for the ceremonies and impresses with its intricate interior roof structure and is a sacred space to receive healing.
The jungle tambos that give a more immersive jungle diet experience are nestled at the back of the property. The standard rooms are closer to the Maloka and the kitchen/community space and right by the kitchen/dining space there is a beautiful pond that attracts all sorts of wild life.

Getting Here

Caya Shobo, Iquitos, Peru

Directions

To travel to Caya Shobo you will need to fly to Iquitos airport in Peru. Your journey will typically include a stop in Lima (which is about a 2 hour flight from Iquitos). We will send an independent moto-car driver to pick you up and bring you to Caya Shobo which is a short 25 minute drive from Iquitos airport.

Caya Shobo delivers

Caya Shobo is excellent in every way. From the moment I landed in Iquitos they took care of me. They arranged for my ride from the airport to the retreat center. Every meal was provided by their fantastic cook Miriam. The location was monitored by their security guard Pedro. The rooms and common areas were very clean and comfortable. The traditional doctors Alberto Izquierdo and Walter Martinez were very compassionate and skilled. Their pharmacist Wilder was an open book for anyone curious to learn more about Amazonian plants. I was able to assist him in preparing a batch of medicine. It was easy to stay in touch with family back home as they have a mobile hotspot.
I received a lot of support throughout the process and benefited greatly. The owners and facilitators are very helpful.
I would recommend Caya Shobo to anyone interested in experiencing authentic plant medicine rituals in a very safe intentional way.

Superb Retreat

Great people, beautiful retreat center, knowledgeable curanderos (shamans).
Felt safe and secure there to go through a cleansing/healing journey (did a 12 day retreat). Inner work is never easy and doing that kind of work in the right environments with the right people is something I take very seriously.
10/10 would recommend Caya Shobo!

The best option for Ayahuasca retreat

I’ve been to Caya Shobo 3 times in the last year and a half - and I would not personally choose to go anywhere else. In my experience, the maestros at Caya Shobo aren’t only the sweetest and good-hearted people, but also incredibly gifted and powerful at what they do. The healings I have experienced in the ceremonies here have gone as deep as my genetic blueprint. There is real magic happening at Caya Shobo. The master plant dietas and the ayahuasca ceremonies have fundamentally changed me from the inside out. In addition to the incredible healings that happen here, the site itself is actually really comfortable for being in the middle of the jungle. There is full staff that cook for you, offer laundry service, clean your room, and keep the whole place clean and running smoothly for the duration of the retreats. The facilitators are westerners and have so much experience with the medicine and offer amazing support. You will be taken care of physically, emotionally, and spiritually - better than most places. I recommend Caya Shobo 10/10 for ayahuasca retreat and master plant dietas.

Deep healing safe environment

I had quite a lot Ayahuasca experiences before coming to Caya Shobo. I however never had such deep and accurate healing experiences. I can't imagine going in another center ever again. The shipibo shamans were very efficient, and totally trustworthy. The best medicine people I ever met. Their approach to medicine is tailored to every participants individual needs. Working with Ayahuasca and peruvian plants can be emotionally challenging, so it is very important that the external conditions are good too. I felt incredibly safe and totaly listened too at Caya Shobo. I do not speak Spanish but the facilitators translated every thing for me, and shared their valuable knowledge too. The resort is also quite comfortable, anyways it's the most comfortable and beautiful jungle ressort I ever went to. And the energies are very very good.
I went to Caya Shobo last year and the healings I received there kept growing in me and helping me long after I came back home. I wish I ll be able to do another retreat soon. I really recommend.
