Upon arrival at the airport, renting a car is highly recommended for transportation to Julian. From San Diego International Airport, it takes approximately 1.5 hours to reach Julian by car, depending on traffic conditions. The route generally involves taking Interstate 8 East and then exiting onto Highway 79 North, which leads directly to Julian. It\'s important to note that Julian is a rural mountain town, and public transportation within the area is limited including uber access. Having a car will allow you to easily access the various attractions, outdoor activities, and neighboring towns in the region.
