Mission & Vision
GUANYUN Retreat is an immersive journey curated by DEYI, an ethical design studio rooted in Chinese ancestral wisdom preserving ancestral crafts and knowledge through art, design and cultural experiences. Designed for soulful individuals seeking reconnection, this unique retreat unfolds across the sacred landscapes of Yanshuo, in Qiandongnan mountains and Mount Fanjing, in Southwest China. It invites participants to slow down and reawaken their senses through creative practices, tea meditation, calligraphy, qigong and shared rituals. More than a retreat, GUANYUN is a journey back to simplicity, presence, and harmony with the living world. By joining, participants also support indigenous artisans from DEYI’s textile cooperative and help preserve a fragile cultural heritage.

We have selected inspiring accommodations for every step of the journey, each deeply connected to Mother-Earth. The experience begins in a serene retreat center set among the karst mountains of Yangshuo. From there, we move on to stay with Dong indigenous artisans in a traditional wooden house. Our journey then leads us to charming lodges nestled on the sacred Buddhist mountain of Fanjingshan, and concludes with a cozy hotel in Guilin, offering a gentle and peaceful end to the experience.
