About this Retreat
Master Pingβs TaiChi and QiGong journey began when poor health in his youth led him to traditional Chinese medicine, where he was advised to practice exercise. This set him on a lifelong path to mastering TaiChi and QiGong, which not only improved his health but also ignited a deep passion for martial arts.
After studying under Master Wang Pujing in Chenjiagou, the birthplace of TaiChi, Master Ping refined his skills in Chen-style TaiChi. His training continued under renowned masters, focusing on TaiChi Push Hands and combat techniques.
In 2010, he founded FangYuan TaiChi Centre in JieYang, Guangdong, to promote TaiChi and improve his students' physical and mental well-being. Since 2014, he has taught internationally, sharing TaiChi wisdom with practitioners worldwide.

What is Qigong ?
Qi gong is an ancient Chinese exercise and healing technique that involves meditation, controlled breathing, and movements that can improve oneβs health, relieve stress, and increase energy. Qi refers to the life force or vital energy, which is the energy that gives power to the mind, body, and spirit. Gong refers to work or gathering of qi.
What is Tai Chi ?
In essence, Tai Chi can be seen as a dynamic form of Qigong, where the flowing movements become a meditation in motion.
If you enjoy flowing, graceful movements and seek stress reduction, mental clarity, improved balance, flexibility, and coordination, or are interested in the martial arts aspect, Tai Chi might be the perfect fit for you. However, both Tai Chi and Qigong offer profound benefits for mind, body, and spirit. We encourage you to explore both practices at FangYuan TaiChi Centre and discover the path that resonates most deeply with you.
Unnecessary tension is released from the joints and muscles, making them more flexible and elastic. It also makes use of specific relaxed abdominal breathing, mental imagery, and awareness of the inside of your body. A more difficult variation is standing-on-one-leg meditation, which is also practiced at the center.
