About this Retreat
Chris is one of our Yoga teachers and facilitators. A background in organic and wholefoods and juicing for patients on the Gerson diet, Chris (Narayana) is passionate about Juice Fasting for the wonderful effects on the body and mind and spirit.
He has been at Moinhos Velhos for 15 years, and with his wife, Karen they facilitate the fasting programmes in the Sivananda Ashrams in India.
Karen is one of our Yoga teachers and facilitators, she has 15 experience here at Moinhos Velhos helping support and guide our clients through all aspects of the Juice Fasting programme. ‘Regular cleaning of the body is essential for good health, shining from the inside out’.
Karen believes in empowering ourselves and others and works for the benefit of all. Karen is also a trained Martin Brothman Foundation Chakra Healer and a keen organic gardener. With her husband Chris, Karen co-facilitates the Juice Fasting programmes in the Sivanada Ashrams in India

Our peaceful valley sanctuary offers three types of accommodation: Single Rooms, Twin Rooms, and Twin Cottages; each designed for comfort, simplicity, and connection to nature. All of our rooms are en suite and feature natural wood furnishings, soft lighting, spacious terrace, and a serene atmosphere ideal for rest and renewal. The Twin Cottages offer a touch of extra privacy, each with two individual bathrooms and their own outdoor space perfect for sunbathing or journaling in the fresh Algarve air. Every space is equipped with Wi-Fi, mosquito nets for your comfort. Bathrooms can also be fitted with a Clysmatic gravity colonic cleansing unit, if indicated as part of your detox process.
