Details of this retreat

Leave the Noise, Find Your Roots.
In a world of digital overload, rediscover the primal satisfaction of creating life with your own hands. Guided by Özgür—a former officer turned organic farmer—this retreat is not just a vacation; it is a practical school for the soul.

Located in the serene landscapes of Western Turkey, our farm is a "Huzur Adası" (Island of Peace) where we bridge the gap between ancient Anatolian traditions and modern sustainability.

What You Will Master:

The Art of the Hearth: Learn to bake sourdough bread, craft traditional cheeses, and preserve the seasons through sun-dried tarhana, jams, and pickles.

Sustainable Husbandry: Connect with our goats, sheep, and poultry. Learn the ethics of animal care and the rhythm of the farm.

Ancient Crafts: Spend meditative afternoons at the loom, learning the patient art of hand-weaving wool carpets.

Ecological Literacy: Master composting, organic soil management, and seed saving.

Schedule

06:00 – 07:00 | The Awakening: Optional sunrise silence and nature observation in the olive groves.

07:00 – 08:30 | Morning Ritual: Hands-on animal care, goat milking, and collecting fresh eggs.

08:30 – 09:30 | Communal Breakfast: Organic, farm-grown meal featuring our own olives, honey, and eggs.

10:00 – 13:00 | Ancestral Skill Workshop: Intensive session on sourdough bread, traditional cheese, or yogurt making.

13:30 – 14:30 | Farm-to-Table Lunch: Seasonal vegetable dishes prepared with ingredients harvested that morning.

14:30 – 17:00 | The Meditative Loom: Supervised hand-weaving session at the wool carpet loom or free time for a digital detox.

17:00 – 18:30 | Somatic Land Work: Seasonal farming tasks such as composting, seed saving, or orchard maintenance.

18:30 – 19:30 | Nature Walk: A guided hike through the hills to observe the local ecosystem and breathe the fresh air.

19:30 – 20:30 | Harvest Dinner: A slow, traditional meal celebrating the day’s labor.

21:00 – 22:00 | Huzur Circle: Fireside sharing, integration talks, and philosophical discussions on freedom and sustainability.
The farm's rhythm is dictated by the seasons; activities may shift slightly depending on the weather and the needs of our animals.

Directions

Our retreat is nestled in a traditional agricultural town in Western Turkey (Manisa/Kırkağaç), strategically located between the cultural hubs of İzmir and Balıkesir. While we are tucked away from the city noise, reaching our sanctuary is a straightforward and scenic journey.

Nearest International Airport: İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB) is the most convenient gateway. It hosts numerous international flights and frequent domestic connections from Istanbul.

Recommended Connections from İzmir:

By Intercity Bus (Easiest): From İzmir Airport, take the 'HAVAŞ' shuttle or the 'İZBAN' train to the main bus terminal (İzmir Otogar). From there, take a direct bus to Kırkağaç or Akhisar (buses depart almost every hour).

By Train: For a nostalgic and scenic journey, you can take the train from İzmir (Basmane Station) towards Balıkesir/Bandırma and get off at the Kırkağaç or Akhisar station.

Local Assistance:
Once you arrive at the Kırkağaçor Akhisar bus station, we provide a complimentary pick-up to bring you the final few kilometers to the farm.

Private Transfer:
Upon request, we can help arrange a private car transfer directly from İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport to the farm for an additional fee.

Accommodation

At our sanctuary, we believe that where you sleep should be as natural as where you walk. We offer a blend of traditional Anatolian architecture and rustic simplicity to ensure a deep, restful connection with the environment. Rustic Simplicity & Comfort: Our rooms are designed with a 'minimalist-natural' approach—think hand-woven rugs, wooden accents, and comfortable bedding. It is a space designed for 'digital detox,' allowing the sounds of nature to be your soundtrack. Communal & Private Options: We offer cozy private rooms for individuals or couples, as well as shared spaces for those who wish to embrace the communal spirit of our farm family. The Garden Campsite: For those who wish to be even closer to the earth, we provide dedicated spots for camping under our majestic pine and walnut trees, where you can wake up to the gentle sounds of our goats and birds. Shared Sustainable Amenities: Our kitchen and bathroom facilities are communal, fostering a sense of togetherness and shared responsibility. We use eco-friendly practices to ensure our footprint on the land remains light. Outdoor Living Areas: Beyond your room, the entire farm is your living room. You are welcome to relax in our hammocks, find a quiet corner for meditation under the vines, or gather around the fire pit for evening conversations.
