# Back to the Roots: A Holistic Living Retreat in Tenerife

In a world that often feels fast-paced, demanding, and disconnected, many of us long for something simpler, more authentic, and more nourishing.

**Back to the Roots** is an invitation to slow down, reconnect with nature, calm the nervous system, and rediscover the essentials of a healthy and fulfilling life.

Hosted at **Casa el Riego**, a living eco-project in the peaceful countryside of Tenerife, this retreat offers a unique blend of holistic practices, sustainable living, community, and nature immersion. It is a space where personal well-being, meaningful human connection, and a conscious relationship with nature come together.

Throughout the week, participants will explore:

• Yoga

• Qi Gong

• SOUL IN TOUCH Bodywork

• Healthy Vegetarian Cooking

• Sustainable Living Practices

• Gardening & Connection with the Land

• Nature Walks & Outdoor Experiences

• Community & Meaningful Human Connection

Together, these experiences create a supportive environment for relaxation, self-discovery, personal growth, and inspiration. Our intention is not only to offer a meaningful retreat experience, but also to provide practical tools that participants can integrate into their daily lives long after the retreat has ended.

Whether it is a healthier way of eating, a simple Yoga or Qi Gong practice, a deeper connection with nature, or a more conscious approach to everyday living, participants are encouraged to take home sustainable habits and inspiration that continue to support their well-being.

Equally important is the sense of community that naturally emerges throughout the week. Sharing meals, practices, conversations, and meaningful experiences creates a space where genuine connections can develop. Many participants arrive as strangers and leave feeling like friends — and part of the extended Casa el Riego family.

The retreat is hosted by **Asociación AMAEL**, a non-profit organization dedicated to holistic well-being, sustainable living, education, and community development. Any surplus generated through our activities is reinvested into the development of Casa el Riego and the creation of a thriving ecosystem that supports our mission and values.

If you are looking for a retreat that combines personal growth, meaningful connection, sustainable living, practical inspiration, and time in nature, Back to the Roots offers a unique and enriching experience.

Return to the roots. Return to yourself.

Casa rural el Riego is a 120-year-old house on an ecological finca on the Eastern side of the beautiful island of Tenerife which is still authentic and very calm.

The house offers 6 guestrooms with private bathroom each and a 4x12 meter salt-water pool for common use with splendid views on the mountains and the sea.

The finca and the house are maintained in a sustainable and ecological way. We eat what we find in our gardens (and other ecological gardens), freshly prepared and with love.
