About this Retreat
Sister Christine Konopelski is a Sister of St. Joseph trained as a Spiritual Director by the Sisters of Mercy at Cranaleith and the Sisters of St. Joseph at Francis House of Prayer. Using various traditions - Ignatian, Salesian, Franciscan, etc - she helps people meet and deepen their relationship with their God, embracing God's mercy and love in their lives and in the lives of all they meet. She has been involved in education and retreat ministry with children, families, and adults for over forty years. Her passion is helping people find God in their lives and learning to listen to the voice of that God within them.
Margie Winters loves to accompany others on their spiritual journeys, finding joy in helping others see God’s presence and Mercy in their lives. She brings with her experience in pastoral ministry, faith formation of adults and children, campus ministry, music ministry and spiritual direction. For many years, Margie taught in Mercy elementary and secondary education, inviting students and teachers to experience God in themselves and one another and with those on the margins. Her own journey was touched deeply by her time as a lay missionary serving the community of San Antonio de Padua in the Dominican Republic and by her work at Project HOME where the stories of those experiencing homelessness deepened her compassion and taught her the power of creating communal spaces of mercy and love. At Cranaleith, Margie will serve as Director of Programs, facilitating retreats, working with community partners and offering spiritual accompaniment. She is overjoyed to return home to Mercy!
Margie holds a Masters in Divinity from Weston Jesuit School of Theology, a certificate in spiritual direction from Cranaleith Spiritual Center, and degrees in nursing and English.
Details of this retreat
Often life is so full, we cannot hear God. Or maybe we are busy, busy, busy and our spirits need some Sabbath rest. What might happen if you took twenty-four hours to enter into the quiet and stillness with God? Allow yourself the opportunity for spiritual renewal.
The retreat begins at 7 p.m. on Friday with a communal prayer service. You will have time to meet with an experienced spiritual director who will listen to you and guide you in making the most of this sacred time with God. The rest of the evening and the next day are yours in silence. All three meals on Saturday are included; breakfast and lunch will be eaten in silence and dinner includes conversation with others on the retreat. Another communal prayer service wraps up the retreat.
The number of spaces for this retreat is limited to 10; register soon!
