Leaving the Shore: Experiencing Poetry as Prayer (Monkfish Press 2025), is a contemplative collection of poems accompanied by sacred practices of Lectio Divina and journaling prompts. With a foreword by James Finley, the book invites readers to experience poetry as a form of prayer, drawing them into reflection, surrender, and intimacy with the Divine. Join us as we welcome Colette Lafia, award-winning author, spiritual director, and retreat leader. Colette will invite us to explore poetry as both a creative and contemplative path which helps us notice the sacred moments in our daily lives. Through language, silence, and creative expression, we begin to recognize the poetry already unfolding within us. Sharing her own creative and spiritual journey, Colette speaks to the rich intersection of creativity, spiritual practice, and the inner life. This presentation offers a deeper way to see the details of our lives: as expressions of a living poem.
