Transpersonal Shamanic Breathwork – Private Session - A Transformational Inner Journey through Breath, Spirit, and the Body
This immersive breathwork session blends ancient shamanic rituals, transpersonal psychology, and conscious connected breathwork to support profound emotional release, spiritual insight, and somatic healing. Inspired by the work of Carl Gustav Jung, Stanislav and Christina Grof and influenced by shamanic wisdom traditions, this experience offers a safe, sacred space to explore expanded states of consciousness in a grounded, embodied way.
What is Shamanic Transpersonal Breathwork?
While not tied to a single lineage Shamanic Transpersonal Breathwork is an emerging modality that weaves together powerful threads from ancient and modern healing traditions from:
Jungian Depth Psychology– honoring the unconscious psyche, archetypes, shadow work, and symbolic language that arises through inner journeying. Breathwork is used as a tool to access and integrate material from the personal and collective unconscious.
Grofian Breathwork principles– rooted in the work of Stanislav and Christina Grof, this includes the use of non-ordinary states, the activation of the inner healing intelligence, and support for perinatal, biographical, and transpersonal exploration.
Shamanic Traditions– incorporating ritual, intention, ancestral connection, and nature-based wisdom. These elements help guide the journey, anchor the sacred, and call upon spiritual allies for insight and protection.
Somatic Practices– including body-based release, intuitive movement, and energetic awareness. This supports the physical discharge of tension, trauma, and emotion stored in the nervous system.
This method stands apart from traditional holotropic or modern shamanic breathwork styles by fully integrating psychological, spiritual, and somatic dimensions into a single cohesive practice.
Session Structure
Preparation
Participants are guided through the fundamentals of conscious breathing, the structure and flow of the breathwork session, what to expect during the process, and a personal emotional check-in to ensure readiness and support.
Breathwork Session (up to 4 hours)
During the session, the breather is gently guided by experienced facilitators and immersed in rhythmic, evocative music. Supportive presence, bodywork, and shamanic practices provide additional support, creating a safe space to access archetypal, somatic, and symbolic realms for deep release and insight.
Integration & Closing
The session closes with a gentle integration process, inviting verbal sharing, emotional reflection, and creative expression through mandala drawing, artwork, or journaling.
Participants may also be guided through simple embodiment practices to help anchor insights into the body and nervous system.
