Details of this retreat

This 5-day Ayahuasca and plant medicine retreat is held at Madre Verde, a small jungle sanctuary on the Ruta de los Cenotes near Puerto Morelos, Mexico.

The retreat is designed for people who feel a sincere call to work with ancestral plant medicine in a safe, respectful, and non-recreational setting. Over five days, you will be guided through a deeper process that includes an Amazonian tobacco purge, one night Ayahuasca ceremony, one daytime Ayahuasca ceremony, personal reflection, live medicine music, integration support, nourishing vegetarian meals, and time to rest in the jungle.

Madre Verde is not a hotel-style retreat center. It is a simple, grounded space built close to nature, with cabañas and private rooms, shared eco-bathrooms, a Maloka for ceremony, peaceful garden areas, and the living presence of the jungle all around. The environment is part of the process: quiet, natural, and removed from the noise of daily life.

The retreat is held by Rubén, Ayahuasca facilitator and medicine musician, with support from Mila, who helps care for the space, the meals, the guests, and the rhythm of the retreat. Ceremonies are supported by prayer, live medicine music, silence, and respectful guidance.

This work is not recreational and it is not for everyone. Before participation is confirmed, each guest is asked to complete an application form so we can review health conditions, medications, mental health history, substance use, previous plant medicine experience, and intention. This helps us understand whether the retreat is appropriate for you and how to support you with care.

Preparation and integration are considered part of the retreat. After your place is confirmed, you will receive preparation guidance, including dietary recommendations and practical instructions for arrival. During the retreat, there is time for personal reflection, group integration, rest, and support around the experience.

The retreat includes four nights of accommodation, vegetarian meals, ceremonies, integration support, one therapeutic massage, a flower bath, and a cenote visit when conditions allow. Shared cabaña accommodation is included, with a private room upgrade available at booking.

If you feel called to join, please approach this work with respect, honesty, and a clear intention. Experiences vary for each participant, and no specific outcome is promised. Our intention is to offer a safe and carefully held space where you can slow down, listen inward, reconnect with nature, and move through your own process with care.

Pricing note: The listed price is the full retreat contribution for the accommodation option selected. Madre Verde does not charge any separate plant medicine or ceremony fee beyond the listed retreat price. Retreat Guru may display a standard plant medicine payment notice, but guests will not be asked to pay an additional plant medicine fee to Madre Verde.

Accommodation

Guests at Madre Verde can choose between shared jungle cabañas and private rooms inside the retreat house. The shared cabañas were built with care by Rubén, Mila, and the Madre Verde community, using natural materials such as wood and traditional palm-thatched palapa roofs. They are simple, comfortable, and intentionally connected to the jungle, with beds, fans, mosquito netting, and natural airflow. There are two shared cabañas available, and each can host up to four guests. For guests who prefer more privacy and comfort, Madre Verde also offers two private rooms inside the jungle house. These rooms are more spacious and enclosed, with comfortable bedding, a ceiling fan, and windows looking out toward the surrounding nature. The two private rooms share one bathroom located between them, and each room can be prepared for single or double occupancy. All accommodation is part of the retreat experience: quiet, grounded, close to nature, and designed to support rest, reflection, and integration.
