Beneath the forest floor, a quiet intelligence hums—threads of mycelium stretching outward in a soft, luminous weave.

Join Lama Liz Monson for a nourishing long weekend retreat exploring the wisdom of the forest and the profound interconnectedness of all life. Through meditation, shared silence, mindful movement, and outdoor practice, we will deepen our felt sense of belonging within the great living web of relationships that sustains us.

This long weekend retreat follows the pathways of the mycelial network—those slender white threads that stitch tree to tree, leaf to root, life to life. You are invited to step into that gentle mycelial mystery, to wander inward as you attune to the subtle rhythms that bind all living things into an interconnected whole.

Please join us to:

Explore the mycelial network as a living metaphor for interconnection, reciprocity, and belonging
Practice meditation as a form of rooting into breath, body, and earth
Be inspired by the intelligence and resilience of the forest
Reconnect with your place within the larger web of life

Over the course of the weekend, we will practice meditation as a kind of rooting: a settling into breath, body, and soil. Guided practices will draw inspiration from the mycelial network—its patience, its reciprocity, its way of listening to the world. As you sit in stillness or move with intention, you’ll be encouraged to sense the unseen connections that sustain you: the emotional, spiritual, and ecological filaments that link your life to countless others.

In shared silence, in quiet walks and outdoor practices beneath the canopy, you are invited to feel the gentle tug of belonging—an awareness that you, too, are part of an ancient tapestry of exchange. This retreat is an invitation to soften, to remember, and to return to your place within the great living web.

Come ready to slow down, to breathe deeply, and to let the forest teach you the language of interconnectedness—one tender thread at a time. Whether you are participating from Wonderwell Mountain Refuge or from the living landscape on your side of the Zoom screen—a front porch, backyard, community garden, nearby park, in the presence of houseplants, or simply with the sky framed through a window—all are welcome. Wherever you join from, the subtle rhythms that bind all life are available as support for your practice.

Program Cost
Our program fees provide essential support to our non-profit operations and NDF’s mission to spread the Dharma in accessible, relevant, and creative ways. Our goal is that no one misses out on our events due to lack of funds. Thanks to our generous donors, we are able to offer tiered pricing and additional support to fit varied financial situations:

May All Beings Benefit! *– supporting access for all and general support for NDF operations
A Middle Way – covering the base cost
Held in Sangha Loving-kindness – offering ease when financial resources are limiting

If the lowest cost tier creates an obstacle to your attendance, please see our financial support options on the registration page. The process is simple and does not require extensive information. Financial aid is immediately approved using discount code options that allow you to contribute the most you are able while honoring your particular resources.

* The difference between the May All Beings Benefit! tier and the Middle Way tier will be considered a tax-deductible donation and will be acknowledged as such in writing. Contributing at this level helps us offer financial aid to other participants. Thank you!!

Access to Recordings
NDF offers unlimited access to recordings, which are available in your user dashboard (more information about user accounts provided in pre-retreat materials). If you have a user account, please register with the same email you use to log into your dashboard. If not, an account will be created for you using your registration address.

Availability will vary depending on the type of event and the backlog for our precious resource volunteers. Thank you for your patience.

Fall Equinox celebration (zoom)
This was my first experience with WonderWell.

I was disappointed that over an hour of the 90 min session was the music group playing. I did not really know what to do during this time, perhaps because I am such a novice.

The guided meditation near the end with Lama Liz was wonderful.
