Praying with Hearts & Hands: Prayer Shawl Ministry

Connie Bartelson has many varied experiences as a facilitator of Prayer Shawl knitting groups throughout Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire since 2010. Besides being the coordinator of the Prayer Shawl Ministry at St. John’s Church in Worcester, MA, she oversees the hat, scarf, and mitten drive for the homeless at St. Francis Food for the Poor Center. She is a retired high school math teacher, mother of 3, and grandmother of 6. Connie has made hundreds of these pocket-sized prayer holders with her Prayer Shawl Ministry at her parish. She keeps a few on hand, and whether it's a fussy toddler with her mother in the grocery store or a grandmother who can provide this small comfort to her grandson after a turbulent day at school, Connie is always happy to share this tiny piece of ministry with those in the community as a soft reminder of presence & love.      

Janet Young has been our tech expert creating our handouts and flyers. She is an officer manager of a medical supply company. She has 2 children and 2 grandsons that she adores. Janet loves baseball, football, supercross, photography, the beach and traveling!
