About this Retreat
Donna Dellacamera is a Spiritual Director/Companion and earned her certification in Grief and Death Studies from The Center for Loss and Life Transition. As a bereaved parent, she has a deep desire to offer compassionate support to others, honoring each person’s unique grief journey.
She has co-facilitated grief caring circles with Nancy Janiszewski at the Spiritual Life Center, Genesis Spiritual Life & Conference Center, and Holy Family Passionist Retreat Center. She was a team partner for the 2024-2026 spiritual direction formation program and is currently a group presenter/facilitator at SLC in Hartford.
She is a member of the Center for Action and Contemplation, Living School community (2019 cohort). A retired Registered Nurse, she is also a volunteer instructor with Farmington Valley Health District.
Nancy Janiszewski is an experienced Spiritual Director/Companion and Supervisor. She initiated the Walking with Grief 8-Week Series and worked in collaboration with Donna Dellacamera and others to design and enhance the program. She feels that offering a safe space to share one’s grief while exploring its different aspects allows for growth and more clarity surrounding the grief process.
Nancy enjoys grandparenting, gardening, travel, yoga, photography, and deep exploration of the spiritual journey.
Details of this retreat
On this day, we will explore the often challenging and unpredictable process of grief and mourning. Together, we will explore the safe expression of grief and support the ability to hold and express the difficult feelings and emotions of loss. We will seek to deepen one's understanding of the mourning process and the movement through grief, toward the hope of healing.
Participants will have time to reflect on and honor their own losses, while being held in a supportive and compassionate environment. This program is also suitable for those who wish to better understand the grieving process and offer meaningful support to others in the midst of grieving.

Biospiritual Focusing retreat at Genesis
I recently attended a five day Biospiritual Focusing retreat at Genesis. The program was excellent. The coordinators experience and wisdom were extremely helpful. I also appreciated their caring and responsiveness to anything I needed.
The staff at the retreat house created a caring, welcoming environment in every way. The food was excellent, and much appreciated. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. It was a very positive experience, and am looking forward to my next retreat there.

BioSpiritual Focusing Retreat 8/26
I received so many gifts of new knowledge and experiences from all 4 instructors and many participants. As always I enjoyed all of the outdoor spaces, especially the labyrinth. I truly appreciate the space that was freely available in the chapel, carriage house and friendship hall for myself and others to offer optional groups.

It was a wonderful evening. Not only was the food delicious, but the teamwork of the staff was admirable and the camaraderie of the guests made for an enjoyable evening. The ambiance was elegant!
