About this Retreat
Alex Myrin is a plant medicine practitioner, yoga and breathwork teacher, and co-founder of the Tikkun Healing Center. Alex’s intention is to create a safe space for you to heal and return to a natural state of well-being. As a military veteran who struggled with treatment-resistant PTSD and tried conventional talk therapy for almost a decade with no improvement, he was willing to try anything to get better. Ayahuasca proved to be a powerful catalyst that made deep healing possible for Alex and helped him in ways that nothing else could. Facilitating this work and being of service to others is a continuation of that healing journey.
Alex is an experienced guide that is here to hold a safe space for people while they heal and integrate mind, body, and spirit. As a key part of his dedication to this path, Alex regularly travels to Peru to complete Master Plant dietas with Shipibo maestros. Whether you think of him as a shaman, medicine man, or plant medicine practitioner, he is quick to remind people that the work is not about becoming something, but rather to un-become. Returning to your true, pure essence is what happens when you release a lifetime of accumulated trauma and let go of the false beliefs the world taught you about yourself.
Jacquelyn Myrin is an energy healer, plant medicine practitioner, yoga teacher, and co-founder of the Tikkun healing center. She was introduced to Ayahuasca and the world of plant medicine through her husband, Alex. Jacquelyn was inspired to explore the inner work thanks to his example, which led to a profound healing experience with Ayahuasca that changed everything. Her intention is to be of service to others by helping them connect to their own inner wisdom as they heal and learn self-love. She believes that all roads lead back to the heart and encourages those feeling the call to try plant medicine to lean into the process. On the other side of that journey is deep, rewarding healing.
Jacquelyn is passionate about the transformative power of plant medicine. As a healer and guide with a grounding, comforting presence, she is here to be of service to others as they heal and come home to themselves. If you ask her about her first experience with Ayahuasca, she’ll tell you that she’s been changed ever since. “It was so deeply profound. I now know that it’s safe to love authentically, that it’s safe to be vulnerable. That is where my strength lies.”
Details of this retreat
What can you expect when you participate in an ayahuasca retreat weekend or Master Plant Dieta at Tikkun? The unexpected. By that, we mean that your experience will be unique to you, no matter how much research you may have done or how many stories you may have heard about ayahuasca, there is no substitute for experience.
At Tikkun, we hold ayahuasca with great reverence as a powerful and sacred master plant teacher. Ayahuasca will support you to release energies and patterns that do not reflect the truth of who you are, and that is an important aspect of healing. At the same time, there is a component of learning and self discovery to this process that begins to build awareness, leading to more presence in your life. Our ayahuasca ceremonies are a journey into the unknown, are portals and catalysts for deep transformation and growth.
An essential component of that transformation is trust. Trusting yourself, trusting the facilitators, trusting in a process that may seem mysterious to you. By signing up for an ayahuasca ceremony or weekend at Tikkun, you have already stepped into the vibration of learning trust. You can expect the process of learning to deepen as the weekend unfolds, as more layers are shed with each ceremony. The integration conversations, breathwork, and a gentle yoga class present more opportunities to connect with yourself, to soften, to slow down and practice presence, to practice what you are learning.
At Tikkun, our intention is to be of service and to support you in your process. It is our intention to hold a safe and sacred space for all who decide to do this work with us, for all who are ready and willing to give to themselves. Attempting to do the work for you would be a great disservice to your healing and growth. As facilitators and space-holders who are immersed in the process of learning and transformation, we are also students of this plant-medicine path. What this path is and will be for you can only be revealed by discovering it, one step at a time.
