About this Retreat

Details of this retreat

At our Center, a seaside haven in the tropical jungle of Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula, we work with traditional Peruvian Shipibo healers and sacred plant medicine, as well as other traditional and modern healing modalities, to help you along this path of self-discovery. Our decades of combined experience holding ceremony and doing medicine work allow you to experience in-depth healing in a safe and loving environment. .

We are called to serve medicine in sacred ceremony with integrity, humility, and compassion. By creating a safe space and working only with experienced, well-intentioned healers and facilitators, we uphold the lessons of the medicines and build a foundation of mutual trust, authenticity, and respect. We are not gurus, preachers, or enlightened beings – our healers are maestros who humbly transmit the knowledge and healing energies of the plants, and our facilitators are devoted to helping guests face, process, and explore difficult experiences and emotions, handle projections, manage expectations, and surrender to the process. We strive to uphold the highest integrity in everything we do and be a beacon for responsible, safe, and ethical practices, such that our guests feel safe and supported to get the most out of their healing.

Menu Types

We believe healing even takes place in the kitchen. We take on the mantra by the Greek physician, Hippocrates: “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” We honor the role of food in our lives and expand it beyond its primary purpose of bodily nourishment – food can be an avenue to dig deeper into ourselves, consciously looking at our patterns and mindsets surrounding not just what we eat, but how and why we eat what we do. Our eating habits don’t just affect our mental health, they also reflect it. At Soltara, we aim to help you jumpstart this process of connection through conscious cooking on all levels. Diet is an important part of the healing process, both on its own and also to help prepare the mind and body for plant medicine work. We work closely with our shamans to prepare wholesome, delicious meals that adhere to the traditional dietary guidelines of working with ayahuasca. All of our meals are freshly prepared in-house by our loving kitchen staff. From fresh smoothies and juices every morning, to plant-based meals emphasizing local, organic, and sustainable produce, to lean proteins such a chicken and fish, we celebrate the rich local flavor of Costa Rican cuisine, and offer a chance to experience a connection to the land and culture while nourishing the body, mind, and spirit.

Goddess Falls - 9/3/25
If you have received the call, do not hesitate to follow through. You will not regret to take this journey with Soltara at their Goddess Falls location.

First, the locale is perfect. The land surrounding the site is beautiful, peaceful and serene. The perfect environment to spend your time in self reflection.

The accommodations could not be better. To refer to the lodging as glamping is an understatement. The tents are comfortable, private, relatively climate controlled, and homey. Bathrooms and showers, while communal, are very accessible, very private, and also clean and hygienic. The staff is highly attentive ensuring that all needs are met on a daily basis. And the food cannot be complimented enough. As someone who is a steak and potatoes type of person, I had some apprehension how well I would enjoy the meals that were prepared. This apprehension was misplaced. Every meal was delicious, filling, and full of variety. I can say without a doubt that I looked forward to breakfast, lunch and dinner. They were so good in fact that I have changed my steak and potatoes approach to my daily diet.

Finally, the facilitators cannot be praised enough. From the minute you pull up, they are beyond welcoming. They give every individual the attention they need to make sure that they have a comfortable stay and splendid journey when the time comes to sit with the medicine. They work with everyone individually every step of the way, helping guide them as they work with the medicine to ensure that their guests get the most out of their investment. Also, as a first time attendee, sitting with the medicine can come with a certain level of anxiety and uncertainty. The facilitators take their time and demonstrated the most compassionate empathy in helping the guests navigate the use of plant medicine before, during, and after the ceremonies. Their enthusiasm was contagious. Their knowledge and insight was priceless. And their ability to put everyone at ease was essential to a great experience.

There are numerous locations to attend when wanting to engage with Ayahuasca. Look no further. With everything this site has and the already reasonable price, you will not regret attending Goddess Falls at Soltara.

Absolutely bar none the most incredible healing place I've ever seen! The Goddess Falls location was all about me and my opportunity to work on me! Not a lot of extra curricular activities and I was okay with this because I came to focus on me! The staff gave me all of the tools to do so!! Thank you Soltara-Goddess Falls

Blessed to have been at Goddess Falls
The facilitator were absolutely beautiful souls. There every step of the way with open hearts. The food was delicious, my body truly feels rejuvenated by it.

As for the location. I chose Goddess Falls as I wanted to be in the jungle closer to nature as I undertook this journey, and more minimalistic surrounding much allowed to me to better access my thoughts and feelings without distraction. And it definitely gave me that and more. Would for sure return in the future.

Professional
I have sat with Aya 14 times across three different settings, including twice at Soltara in 2023 and 2025. The best word to describe Soltara is "professional." Their process is refined and follows clear best practices, yet it is not clinical at all. This effective balance is largely due to the highly curated facilitators and maestros, all of whom exemplify a professional attitude. Thank you for taking this medicine and process so seriously.
