Qigong for Health

“Qi” means energy and “Gong” means skill or cultivation. So, Qi Gong is "the skill of cultivating your life-force energy." Through movements, deep breathing, and meditation, Qi Gong helps you cultivate positive, life-force energy and promote healing from within.
Morning Sessions - Happy Spleen and Stomach Qigong – Earth Element - Late Summer Early Fall
The Earth Element and Qigong: The Earth element is vital to the production of two Qigong treasures - Energy and Essence. In addition, Earth’s ideals of balance and moderation underline all lifestyles as the basis of health, harmony, and longevity.
The Spleen houses the body's thoughts and Intentions (Yi).

Weak limbs and muscle atrophy are indications of deficient Spleen Energy.

The Stomach influences the mental state.

Anxiety and hyperactivity are signs of Excess Stomach Energy

Earth Energy deficiencies result in Worry and Self Doubt

When Earth Energy is in abundance the result is Trust and Honesty

Happy Spleen and Stomach Qigong - Works to Balance and Create Abundance in Your Earth Energy
Afternoon Session- Yang Taiji Baduanjin: The Waist and Spine
The afternoon session exercises the waist, spine and central nervous system, the core of the body. This is broken into Four parts:

Waist inclines - Localized stretching along the spine, back of the legs and groin.
The Eyes - Qigong for the eyes, strengthens the eyes and the muscles and tendons that support the eyes. These exercises also have a neurological aspect that affects every cell in your body.
The Tree, a stance exercise that further integrates the waist, spine and central nervous system with the stance.

The section ends with a fajin exercise that brings together elements of the all sessions.

Qigong can dramatically impact your health, whatever your age or background.  Easy to learn, a joy to perform, their regular practice will boost your play and work.  These movements are an ideal adjunct for health professionals wishing to enhance their performance, for martial artists, dancers, and other active people. They support other Healing Practices, including Reiki and Therapeutic Touch.  They work equally well to relieve stress and enliven those with more sedentary lifestyles.

Beautiful and magical place
Camp Indralaya is a very special place, surrounded by trees and water, amazing humans, and a wonderful community. I learned so much from the TT program I participated in, that I am forever grateful. I loved helping in the kitchen and learning new recipes. The garden is so beautiful and it’s wonderful to eat fresh produce whenever possible, and enjoy the apples that grown there as well! Grateful for the people that are part of the community of Indralaya and for everyone I met there.

Therapeutic Touch workshop at Indralaya
Indralaya is a nearly 100 year old Theosophical great camp nestled among the old growth forest of Orcas Island... It is pure magic.. From the peaceful surroundings, beautiful rustic cabins, incredibly considerate staff, delicious vegetarian meals, and wonderful teaching halls it is a gem. I have been there 3 times over the last 10 years and my experience has been consistently excellent. There are also gorgeous walking trails winding down thru the trees to the beaches on the Sound. We,ve seen bald eagles, herons, osprey, ravens flying above and otters splashing in the water. The staff work very hard to maintain their organic garden (which produces much of the food for meals), orchards, trails, and cabin comforts. There is a strong community spirit of cooperative volunteerism and genuine authenticity. The whole atmosphere is pervaded by a simple, meditative sweetness. The library is inspirational and the stars at night are tremendous. It is a true retreat place, worth every effort.

Daily Practices to Embody Theosophy at Indralaya, May 27-31, 2026
My recent retreat with about twenty others, facilitated by Juliana Cesano, was a truly beautiful experience, beginning to end! It was just what I needed at this time. and I enjoyed it completely. Juliana was masterful in her organization and presentation of information, and in guiding participants toward achievable, practical practice goals while providing ample time for silent meditation practice and discussion of the program content.Indralaya is a deeply beautiful and peaceful site, all natural surroundings, huge garden, fruit trees, and near the water; eagles flying overhead and deer appearing and walking unafraid across the meadow. The accomodations were rustic, quiet, clean, and comfortable. The shared experience of food preparation and chores provided the opportunity to commune with others - and I must add, every meal was delicious - vegetarian and vegan fare. We were even able to see orcas swimming by as we left by ferry! I'm looking forward to more experiences like this!

A great program to implement Theosophical principles to the everyday.
This program reviewed a pillar text of Theosophy and led a practice on how to develop a practice at home. I would recommend this program to anyone interested in exploring Theosophy, or finding ways to live the principles in daily life.
