About this Retreat

Details of this retreat

The purpose of this retreat is to become aware of the importance of letting go of the past, releasing what anchors us to old wounds and patterns that no longer serve us. Allowing us to open our hearts and minds to new experiences and opportunities.

In this sacred space, we will sow the seed of the present, the place where the future we are about to embark on will blossom. With deep intention and mindfulness, we will cultivate our aspirations, dreams and goals, nurturing them with love and gratitude. We will connect with the essence of our being, the source of inner wisdom that will guide us on the path that unfolds before us.

In the midst of stillness and contemplation, we will find the spiritual nourishment we need to feed our soul and forge a deeper connection with the universe. As we embrace this conscious retreat, we allow the light of awareness to illuminate our path, dispelling the shadows of the past and opening the door to a future full of possibilities.

May this retreat be a sacred act of self-discovery and transformation, a reminder that every moment is an opportunity for rebirth and growth. Together, let us release the past, sow the present, and light the way for the year ahead with hope and love.

All this accompanied by the wisdom of plants and ancestral knowledge, fusing it in an original and unique way with traditional and contemporary elements, such as yoga, meditation, bio-dance, constellations .... Allowing each moment to be spontaneous and fresh, to emerge from presence and awareness, leaving behind limiting patterns.

Magical experience in the Andalusian mountains
I came to Amaorawa as a sceptic. I left having had the most profound experience of my life.

It wasn't easy. Three nights of ayahuasca ceremonies in the mountains outside Málaga is not a gentle undertaking. It is intense, it is physically demanding, and it will ask more of you than you think you have to give. But Carlos and the team at Amaorawa held the space with such skill, such warmth, and such genuine care that I never felt unsafe, even in the most difficult moments.

Maria sat with me for hours during my hardest night with no fuss or panic. She simply stayed calm and comforting until I found my footing again. Her presence was gentle, grounding and exactly what I needed.

Desiree's facilitation during the ceremonies was extraordinary - her musical gifts alone are worth the journey, and the moment she picked up her guitar in the closing ceremony and played two songs of devastating beauty is something I will carry with me for a long time.

The setting - a hacienda deep in the Andalusian mountains - is remote and wild and absolutely right for this kind of work. The ceremonies themselves are thoughtfully structured, moving from silence to sound in ways that feel ancient and considered rather than performative.

The insights I came home with are still settling. But I know already that something significant shifted during those three nights - something I had been carrying for a long time that I didn't fully know how to put down.

My only practical suggestion would perhaps be to provide bottled water for participants. Drinking tap water while dehydrated from purging maybe didn't didn't help matters, and given the care taken with every other aspect of the experience, it feels like an easy thing to address.

I am grateful to Carlos, Maria, and Desiree from the bottom of my heart. They do important, serious work with skill and love.

Highly, wholeheartedly recommended.

Amorawa - January retreat
After some initial apprehension, as I was slightly entering the unknown, on arrival we were met warmly and were welcomed with open arms into Amorawa. Carlos, Vanessa, Laura and Desiree were a perfect team who balanced each other beautifully all bringing something unique and wonderful to the experience, while remaining attentive to any needs that arose. The ceremonies were full of magical music played and sung by the team that made the experience both enchanting and absorbing allowing the medicine to take us to wherever was needed. Each ceremony took us deeper and the shift in the participants from the first day to the last day was incredible. The integration sessions helped everyone to consolidate their experiences and were led in a sympathetic and practical way. There was an abundance of delicious food always on hand and the love and warmth that went into every detail of the retreat made it an unforgettable life changing experience. Thank you!!!! Charlie

Having been to a few retreats already i am really glad i came across this one as at has been one of the best so far! The staff is really knowledgable and supportive and i felt in good hands at all times. It certainly was challenging physically but i came out a stronger person. The location itself was really great as well as the view to the mountain range was incredible. Also the food served there was really good as well. Couldnt have asked for a better experience
