About this Retreat
Your Guides
An Swinnen is the Managing Director of BECS which was founded in 2004. BECS is an award-winning training company based in London which specialises in mental health courses and talks worldwide.
In 2011 An was awarded the British Business Forum Excellence Award by Baroness Emma Nicholson of Winterbourne at the British Embassy in Kuwait. In 2013 An received the Venus Networker of the Year in Devon Award in UK and in 2015 An was in the final of the UK Trainer of the Year Award in London.
An is the author of “Brain Based Stress Management”, “The Mental Health Survival Guide (Because It’s A Jungle Out There)” and “The Business Survival Guide (Because It’s A Jungle Out There)”.
An is not only an education and corporate training expert, but also a clinical solution-focused psychotherapist and a member of the National Board for Modern Psychotherapy. An has a degree in education and has worked in primary, secondary, higher and special needs education in England.

The chronic pain relief retreat in Devon is a one-to-one retreat so that we can focus on your needs and interests, help you make positive changes and create a plan for the future. Our team explains in a simple and fun way how the brain works and how you can trick it to deal with chronic pain. We will give you a brain based ‘toolbox’ so that you learn to control your own mood and all aspects of your life.
Our retreat is in SW England. You can choose your dates and where in Devon you would like to stay. We will help you use neurology, hypnotherapy, psychometrics, NLP, the Swinnen technique, self-hypnosis, change management, problem solving and decision making skills. You can choose your own retreat activities that are all included in the package: hypnotherapy, yoga, art therapy, sound therapy, horse riding, swimming and walking on the beach or on beautiful Dartmoor. You will be staying in 4 and 5-star award-winning holiday accommodation at Britain’s Ocean City or Dartmoor National Park. You deserve peace and rest so you can recover, learn and grow.

We will give you directions to your venue once you have booked. We will welcome you at Exeter Airport, Totnes and Plymouth railway station.

Stay at Bossell Cottage, your own holiday cottage on Dartmoor if you want to get away from it all; or get pampered at the 5-star Boringdon Hall Hotel & Spa with its award-winning spa, Michelin star restaurant and Elizabethan Manor House.

You can choose the venue for your mental health retreat in Devon. We recommend that you stay at your own 4-star Bossell Cottage in Buckfastleigh with its flower gardens, patio and off-road parking. It is perfect for private conversations and hypnotherapy sessions. If Bossell Cottage is booked, we recommend the 4-star Crowne Plaza in Plymouth or 5-star Boringdon Hall Hotel & Spa in Plympton.
