About this Retreat
Milena (daughter of lead Shamans, Silvana and Emerson) is a natural healer and nurturer. Her gifts allowed her to start guiding ceremonies as a teenager. Throughout the years, she has observed her parents and studied the Ayahuasca medicine and its healing properties. Now she is the lead facilitator of many of our workshops, ceremonies, and yoga classes in Brazil, and is the lead Shaman at our U.S. retreats and ceremonies. Her greatest expertise is within Ayahuasca and Rapé. Milena also speaks both English and Portuguese fluently, allowing for easy translation between Our Lead Shamans, the tribe, and participants of our Brazilian retreats. Milena trusts that through plant medicine, the world can find healing and positivity. This is why she brings the power of AYA to those who normally wouldn't have access to it. Milena is committed to traveling to those in need of the medicine because she knows that with it, we can all find our true selves and our inner peace. She has helped many in both Brazil and the United States during her travels, sharing her knowledge of plant medicine to anyone who is seeking it.

Abiygal (wife of Milena) was born a natural empath and healer. She attended college and received her degree in Psychology, with a focus in music therapy. After she met her wife, Milena, she decided to use her knowledge and combine it with the study of indigenous plant medicines, under the advisement of her in-laws . Now, Abi is an herbalist who takes part in all of our ceremonies and workshops as a facilitator. She travels with her wife to bring our healing medicine to those in need in the States and other places where access is limited. Her expertise is within Ayahuasca, Rapé and Psychology. She believes that using both ancient traditions and understanding the effects of plant medicine on the human mind, can bring new healing possibilities to those who are suffering.

Shaman and Cacique (chief) Yradezú was born in Brazil's northern Amazon Rainforest to the Kariri Xocó tribe. The Kariri Xocó are part of the tribes that have maintained their culture and traditions in spite of immigration and colonization. Ayahuasca and other plant medicines have always been an integral part of the tribe's life. We are honored to be taught and led by such traditions.
Shaman, Yradezú, travels with the medicine of Ayahuasca to educate others on his tribe's customs and use of plant medicines. He feels it is important that the medicine of Ayahuasca be in the right hands during sacred ceremony. So, he has made it his purpose to give others a chance to embrace his tribe's traditions that have been around for thousands of years, while also making sure it is done safely and respectfully.
While leading Ayahuasca ceremonies, Shaman Yradezú also sings traditional Kariri Xocó music, plays instruments, paints the faces of participants, and brings forth his tribe's customs. He is known for his patience, knowledge, bright smile, and passion for his people. To know him, is to love him. We give thanks to the Cacique.
Silvana and Emerson Da Silva (married) are our co-founders and Lead Shamans.
Silvana is a natural leader and all around mother figure. She embodies everything Ayahuasca and also makes custom jewelry for our participants. With her husband, Emerson, she facilitate all of our ceremonies and has herbalist expertise in all of the medicines we offer. Silvana has been married to Emerson for 23 years, and she has invested her life into the healing power of Ayahuasca and Mother Nature's other medicines. She believes that through plant medicine, especially Ayahuasca, one can find cure and peace within their spirit.

Silvana and Emerson Da Silva (married) are our co-founders and Lead Shamans.
Emerson is a natural protector and grounder. He also makes some of our healing medicines and custom tabaco pipes. With his wife, Silvana, he facilitate all of our ceremonies and has herbalist expertise in all of the medicines we offer. Emerson has dedicated his life to understanding plant medicines and their purpose of helping others. He strongly believes in the healing power of Ayahuasca, Rapé, and Sananga put together. His calm demeanor and presence makes combined with his knowledge of the medicines, makes for a beautiful learning experience.

Gustavo (son of lead Shamans, Silvana and Emerson) is a self-taught musician and creator. He has studied music and its effects on the human psyche during ceremonies. He in charge of maintaining the healing energy needed for ceremonies through music. His expertise allows him to create specifically curated playlists and original songs for ceremonies. He plays several instruments, which you will see live. Through music, Gustavo helps participants exist on a higher frequency, allowing them to spiritually travel to other realms and times.

Suellen (wife of Gustavo) is a medium between the physical and spiritual realms. She is also in charge of recording and documenting the retreat experience as a whole. So, often times, you'll see her with a camera. Nothing is posted without consent, she does this so that we can always learn and improve the retreat experience. Her greatest expertise is within ancestral entities. Suellen helps participants who are struggling to understand some of the things they may be experiencing regarding their ancestors or past.

Shaman Fernando Mantoani is our lead tea brewer, learning how to properly make Ayahuasca from the tribe. He travels to the Amazon to retrieve the Psychotria viridis shrub and Banisteriopsis Caapi Vine that deforesters try to destroy. He then cleans the leaves and roots of the plants, chops them, blesses them, and makes our healing medicines and teas. Since he is the first point of contact with the medicines, he has a very important and meticulous job. Fernando personally tries and performs sacred ritual prayers on every batch of Ayahuasca brewed before sharing with our other Shamans. The other Shamans then consecrate the medicine before sharing with participants. This is done to ensure that each batch of medicinal tea is blessed with healing energy and positive intentions.
