About this Retreat
Paije Alexandra West is a Bwiti-initiated ceremonial guide, retreat facilitator, and founder of ETÉREO—an experiential retreat project based in Baja California Sur, Mexico. With over a decade of experience supporting thousands through sacred medicine work, she is known for her trauma-informed, spiritually grounded, and therapeutically supported approach to plant medicine.
Paije’s path with iboga began over ten years ago in clinical Ibogaine settings, where she supported guests navigating detox and psycho-spiritual healing. During this time, she also served 5-MeO-DMT in ceremonial contexts to support integration and spiritual processing for those emerging from Ibogaine treatment. The sudden loss of her brother to a fentanyl overdose deepened her relationship with the medicine and ultimately led her to ceremonial iboga. In 2021, she traveled to Gabon, Africa, where she underwent traditional Bwiti Rites of Passage and was formally initiated into the Missoko Bwiti lineage.
She has trained extensively in trauma and somatic healing, including certification through the Trauma & Somatics Practitioner Course, Internal Family Systems (IFS) workshops, the Center for Optimal Living’s psychedelic care training for substance use issues, and peer support with the Zendo Project. Drawing from her foundation as a full-spectrum birth and postpartum doula, Paije integrates the doula model of care into all her work—prioritizing presence, education, non-interference, and emotional advocacy.
Her Iboga retreats are known for their depth, safety, and beauty, held in luxury settings with full medical screening, licensed therapists, and a high-touch, trauma-informed approach. She collaborates closely with her husband and a skilled support team to create deeply personal and reverent containers for transformation.
Paije brings a grounded presence, intuitive strength, and a deep respect for the mystery that lives within the medicine. She considers herself a lifelong student of both tradition and self-inquiry, committed to honoring the root while supporting others in their return to truth.
Fletcher Burdick is a Q’ero-initiated facilitator, energy worker, and substance use specialist who has trained with indigenous teachers in Peru. His work is rooted in traditional healing practices, and at ETÉREO, he supports individuals navigating substance dependency while advising the greater team on harm reduction, integration, and holistic recovery. With a deep understanding of the intersection between addiction and plant medicine, Fletcher brings a compassionate and informed perspective to those seeking transformation through psychedelic-assisted healing.
Having overcome his own struggles with substance use disorder, Fletcher is passionate about the role of earth medicines such as iboga, 5-MeO-DMT, and huachuma in fostering deep and lasting change. He believes that true recovery extends beyond detoxification and into the realms of emotional, psychological, and spiritual healing. His work integrates energy healing, somatic awareness, and traditional ceremonial practices, creating a framework that honors both indigenous wisdom and modern therapeutic insights. His ability to hold space with clarity and empathy has helped many reclaim their lives with intention and self-trust.
As a lifelong student of shamanic and psychedelic practice, Fletcher continues to deepen his studies while mentoring those who seek guidance in their healing. His dedication to this path informs his role at ETÉREO, where he helps create safe, intentional spaces for deep transformation. Whether working directly with guests or offering counsel to the team, Fletcher is devoted to bridging traditional wisdom with modern, holistic recovery approaches, ensuring that each person who comes to ETÉREO receives the support and guidance needed for profound, lasting change.
Ixchel is a plant medicine specialist, Bwiti initiate, and founder of The Ixchel Way. Over the years, she has guided individuals through transformational healing journeys using sacred earth medicines, with a deep commitment to safety, integrity, and trauma-informed care.
Her ceremonial work weaves together indigenous wisdom and Western therapeutic principles, with strong emphasis on preparation, integration, and nervous system regulation. Ixchel has facilitated retreats and ceremonies with medicines including psilocybin, iboga, Syrian rue, kambo, and rapéh, supporting guests navigating depression, trauma, anxiety, PTSD, addiction, and chronic illness.
Trained in the Ecology of Clinical Shamanism and deeply influenced by years of global apprenticeship with elders across traditions, Ixchel brings a grounded, compassionate presence to every container. She is known for her ability to meet guests exactly where they are, holding space with humility, clarity, and joy.
Ixchel currently serves as Head of Communications at ETÉREO, a luxury psychedelic retreat and healing center outside Todos Santos, Mexico. She holds degrees from Harvard and Stanford, and brings a rare synthesis of spiritual depth, academic rigor, and embodied leadership to her work with sacred medicine.

This 7-day ceremonial Iboga retreat is designed for those who are ready to go to the root.
Held in a discreet luxury space near the coast of Baja California Sur, this highly curated, boutique experience combines the spiritual depth of traditional Bwiti Iboga ceremony with the structure and support of therapeutic care. Guided by a team of experienced facilitators including Bwiti-initiated leaders, trauma-informed therapists, and ceremonialists, this retreat offers a rare opportunity to experience whole-root Iboga in a safe, private, and deeply held setting.
The retreat includes two full Iboga ceremonies led in alignment with Bwiti tradition, as well as individual and group-based support woven throughout. You’ll be guided through a powerful arc of preparation, ceremony, and integration, with practices such as daily yoga, spiritual cleansing rituals, Internal Family Systems (IFS) group work, vision activation, and nervous system regulation.
Guests receive one-on-one counseling and integration support throughout the week, with licensed psychedelic-assisted therapists available on-site. The experience is supported by a full medical intake process including EKGs and labs, and magnesium IVs are administered pre-ceremony for optimal physical safety and wellness.
Our team includes Paije Alexandra West (Bwiti initiate and founder of ETÉREO), Fletcher Burdick (Q'ero initiate and addiction specialist), Ixchel (plant medicine specialist and Bwiti initiate), and Violet (licensed social worker and psychedelic-assisted therapist with experience supporting Iboga journeys).
