About this Retreat

Schedule

Day 1
Arrival and Presentations – Guests are picked up from the Airport Hotel in an air-conditioned Mercedes Sprinter bus and arrive in the early afternoon at Eleusinia’s private 100-acre retreat center, located in the picturesque lakeside community of Valle de Bravo, Mexico, often referred to as the "Hamptons of Mexico City." Upon arrival, guests are welcomed by the retreat team, which includes facilitators, medical professionals, and support staff. They are given time to settle in and connect with other attendees while enjoying snacks and refreshments. Each guest will have an initial one-on-one medical intake with a member of Eleusinia’s medical team, as well as an opportunity to meet individually with Eleusinia’s Curandera, a traditional Mexican mushroom practitioner, who offers a spiritual cleansing and blessing for their journey. Guests will also receive a tour of the Eleusinia grounds to become familiar with the surroundings.

In the late afternoon, presentations cover the neuroscience of psychedelics, preparation for the upcoming macrodose, Eleusinia’s approach to "intention setting," and a formal introduction to the Eleusinia team. This is followed by an intimate group dinner on our veranda, prepared by our gourmet chef.

Day 2
The morning begins with a follow-up presentation on navigating a psychedelic journey, alongside a discussion of the tools and techniques we use to support our guests throughout their experience. Guests are further introduced to the thoughtfully curated garden spaces, designed specifically to enrich their journey. Eleusinia’s breathwork and meditation coach leads them through a series of exercises in preparation for the macrodose.

The session begins as a group in our meditation structure, affectionately called "The Nest," and soon transitions to a more personal experience across our expansive gardens and private alcoves. Each area features carefully curated stations designed to deepen the journey, offering options like relaxing in a hammock, cozy cocoon-like seating, or lounging in spacious living rooms with floor-to-ceiling views. Every setting is meticulously crafted to provide a unique and exploratory environment, all under the attentive care of our facilitators (1:2 ratio). These spaces integrate neuroscience-based tools and techniques to assist in navigating the psychedelic journey, which lasts approximately 4-6 hours.

Evenings are spent unwinding by the fire, providing a space for reflection, journaling, or engaging in informal conversations with team members and fellow guests about their experiences.

Day 3
Day 3 is focused on DMT, integration, meditation classes, and massage. It’s a full day at Eleusinia. Each guest participates in individual DMT sessions after the group breakfast, supported by Eleusinia’s facilitators, with a ratio of two facilitators per guest. After lunch, small group classes in breathwork, mindfulness, and TRE (Trauma Release Exercises) are led by our breathwork and meditation coach, along with one-on-one integration sessions with either our psychotherapist or a specialist trained in psychedelic integration.

The afternoon includes a massage session followed by our Mushroom Cultivation Course Part #1 and a lively group dinner. Each guest receives a personalized schedule, with breaks interspersed to allow time for socializing with other guests, resting, or exploring the grounds. Guests also have the option to record their individual integration sessions for sharing with family members or therapists back home.

Day 4
After breakfast, one-on-one integration meetings with our curandera are available for those seeking a cultural and spiritual perspective. Small group classes on Tension Release Exercises (TRE) and other somatic movement techniques are led by our mind and body coach. After lunch, guests receive a one-hour hot stone massage to further enhance relaxation.

The day also includes small group mindfulness hikes on our grounds and, during mushroom season, guided mushroom hunting trips through our forest. In the evening, we continue with the second part of our mushroom cultivation class, concluding the day with a relaxed group dinner.

Excursions, such as paragliding or trips to town, as well as additional massage sessions, can also be scheduled on this day, offering guests an opportunity to further customize their experience with activities that align with their personal preferences for relaxation or adventure.

Day 5
On day 5, guests embark on their second psilocybin macrodose of the retreat. The insights and experiences from the first macrodose are carefully reviewed to fine-tune the dosing and provide any necessary additional support. The medical team consults with each guest to discuss the sensations they experienced during the initial dose and make adjustments to the dosing plan or comfort measures, such as managing nausea or other factors. The session itself follows a similar structure to the first macrodose, unfolding within our expansive gardens.

Before the session, we revisit the techniques used to navigate the psychedelic experience, evaluating which methods were most impactful for each guest during their first journey. The evening after the macrodose is reserved for relaxation and recovery, giving guests the space to reflect on their experience and rest.

Day 6
For guests who have opted for the class, day 6 begins with an early morning DMT extraction workshop. Later, the group breakfast includes a creative writing exercise designed to compliment the psychedelic integration process. After breakfast, class participants enjoy some leisurely time in the garden, exploring individual DMT sessions to further develop their navigation techniques.
In preparation for the minidose, there is a meditation session that incorporates Wim Hof breathing techniques and other practices aimed at enhancing the psychedelic experience. The minidose session begins with a cold plunge to boost endorphin and norepinephrine levels, preparing participants for the deeply meditative state of the minidose. Immediately after the cold plunge, we start the minidose, spending the rest of the afternoon in deep psychedelic meditation exploring the garden or relaxing by the fire.

Dinner following the minidose is a lively event, featuring psychedelic trivia to reinforce the knowledge gained throughout the retreat.

For those that have opted out of the extraction class, this day is the perfect opportunity to explore the local attractions such as paragliding, visiting town, or visiting the nearby monarch butterfly sanctuary.

Day 7
Day 7 begins early with the second part of the DMT extraction workshop. After breakfast, guests have the opportunity to participate in their second, more personalized DMT session, with each participant selecting their own setting. Many choose to revisit their favorite spots in the garden for a more intimate and tailored experience.

In the afternoon, guests take part in a Temazcal ceremony, a traditional sweat lodge ritual involving heated lava rocks and herbal steam.

The evening concludes with a closing gathering, featuring a cacao ceremony, providing a reflective and ceremonial closure to the day and the retreat experience.

Day 8
Day 8 begins with a group breakfast and an optional poetry reading for those who wish to share their writings from the retreat. Before departures, we take our signature "backs only" group photo to commemorate the experience while respecting the privacy of all guests. Afterward, the bus will transport guests back to Mexico City to catch their flights home.

A Safe, Thoughtful, and Deeply Transformative Retreat
Having attended other psilocybin retreats before, I can confidently say that Eleusinia offers something truly special. What stood out the most for me was their approach to integration. At other retreats, group integration often felt like I had to “perform” my experience for others rather than process it for myself. Here, integration is completely one-on-one, allowing you to share as much or as little as you’d like. As a quiet person who prefers individual interactions over group settings, this made all the difference.

Another huge factor that set Eleusinia apart was the presence of a real medical staff. Knowing there were professionals available for any medical concerns gave me the confidence to fully surrender to the experience without worry. Beyond that, the level of personalized support here is exceptional.
• Feeling drawn to the neuroscience side of things? Jess and Jay have you covered.
• Feeling spiritual? Josephina and Emilio will guide you with wisdom and care.
• Looking for a blend of all of that—science, therapy, spirituality—with a compassionate, judgment-free approach? Frank is there for you.
• Unsure of what you’re feeling or need guidance processing? Anyone can help point you in a direction.

Every person on staff brings their own expertise and warmth, making sure you are seen, heard, and cared for in exactly the way you need when you need it.

A Profoundly Personal Journey

I originally sought out psilocybin because I suffered from complex PTSD, carrying 30 years of trauma that I needed to unravel. I wanted to do this work without relying on modern pharmaceuticals like SSRIs—to truly heal, not just manage symptoms. This has been a long and deeply personal journey, and while my healing extends beyond my time at Eleusinia, the people here have played a major role in helping me move forward.

It wasn’t just about the experience on-site—though the care, the medicine, and the space held for me were deeply impactful. What made Eleusinia different was that they equipped me with solid, practical tools that I could take home with me. They didn’t just help me heal in the moment; they helped me continue healing on my own. I finally feel more alive, more present, and more myself than I have in years.

While I’m not someone who outwardly shows a lot, inside, I am deeply grateful.

The Experience Beyond Ceremony

The experience outside of ceremony is just as magical. The kitchen staff is incredible—they honestly need to release a cookbook. The meals were not only nourishing but also thoughtfully prepared to enhance the overall journey. The grounds are stunning, with beautiful, manicured spaces and little intentional details designed to spark curiosity and wonder.

My husband and I opted for the couples package, and it was a perfect way to start the new year together. The massages, picnic lunch, in-room dinner, and recommitment ceremony were beautifully curated experiences that deepened our bond and allowed us to reflect on our journey together in a meaningful way.

I also deeply appreciated the pre-dose preparation, which included meditations and breathwork. Emilio is an incredible guide, and Josephina is one of the most intuitive people I have ever met—she just knew exactly what I needed. In her dosing ceremonies, I felt safe, held, and deeply loved.

And amidst all of this serious work, there was no shortage of humor woven throughout the experience, making it feel lighthearted and human.

Perhaps the greatest testament to how special this place is? I’ll be an annual visitor. Unlike other retreats that rotate contracted facilitators, Eleusinia keeps a consistent team, which means I’ll get to return each year and be welcomed back by the same amazing people who make this place what it is.

If you’re considering a retreat and want a place where you feel genuinely safe, supported, and free to explore your own experience at your own pace, Eleusinia is the place to go.

A truly amazing experience!
My wife and I have visited Eleusinia twice together and cannot express how wonderful each visit has been. Finding a Psilocybin retreat that could meet each of our needs individually was paramount. Having medical staff on site 24hrs was so comforting to us both. Being in recovery for several years from substance abuse and seeking out a Psilo retreat to help manage mental health in a foreign country was extremely scary. However, From the initial call with Jessica to leaving the 2nd retreat, I knew that we had made the correct choice. The whole experience with Eleusinia was life changing. The group breath work, Ice bath, macrodose sessions, DMT session, integration sessions and Mini dose sessions were all truly remarkable. The macrodose sessions were most impactful for me. Having the trained staff that I felt so comfortable around integrated into my experience was so beneficial. I was able to get vulnerable and express emotions in a way that I had never been able to accomplish in an office setting. I shared things with the team that I was never able to share with anyone without feeling judged. The team there is so kind and caring and go above and beyond in every way possible. Everyone at Eleusinia exceeded all expectations. We started each journey with random strangers and now we have a family. We will definitely be planning a 3rd visit when the timing is right.

Eleusinia is amazing
From the moment I arrived, I felt a wonderful sense of peace and trust in the staff of Eleusinia. I had never experienced any of elements of the retreat. From the breathwork, ice bath, meditation, medicines, food, staff attentiveness and the sheer beauty of the resort I found a level of happiness I had not experienced in a very long time. Since coming home, my family has noticed the positive impact the resort had upon me. I would love to go back with my husband as I know he will truly enjoy the experience for himself.

Truly Life Changing
My partner and I recently participated in a 5-day, 4-night retreat at Eleusinia. We had researched other psilo retreats and had landed on Eleusinia mainly due to the science, staff, accommodations, grounds, agenda, etc. We preferred a smaller group size experience so Eleusinia provided that setting also. We were draw to a psilo experience after researching the potential health benefits that have been reported by many people worl-wide. Eleusinia completely exceeded my expectations in all aspects. I found the experience to be an unforgettable and life changing experience. The DMT sessions that I participated in were simply amazing. I am unable to express my appreciation for the care, compassion, and kindness of the staff during the retreat. Beyond the Macro, Mini and DMT sessions the Somatic exercises and breath work sessions lead by Emilio provided similar pineal (third eye) stimulation and were amazing. The Josefina the Curandera conducted ceremonies and provided a connection that was again life changing. If you are considering a psilo retreat, my advice is look no further. Eleusinia will help you on your healing journey and also provide the tools to continue healing after your time there. The cost of the retreat is dwarfed by the health benefits I gained for my short time there. I look forward to seeing Jess and Jay (the owners) and staff at a future retreat.

Perfect in Every Way
If you’re reading this review, you’re likely in the same place my partner and I were a few months ago. We were searching for a psilocybin retreat to improve the quality of our daily lives. Look no further, you have found the ultimate retreat with the most kind and loving staff you could hope to find.

We had a conference call with Jessica before booking our stay since we had a few questions. One of my main concerns was that the experiences would be outside, versus the clinical setting utilized in many of the documentaries we had watched. Being outside, in the magical setting at Eleusinia, is beyond words. The grounds are stunning. To experience such oneness with the universe was life-changing and I’m certain an inside experience would not have been nearly as impactful.

Each of the 9 guests had plenty of space and privacy to enjoy the experience. Privacy does not come at the expense of support and care. The Eleusinia team is present should you need or want them at any time. Josefina, the Curandera, has a gift that is powerful beyond words. I still feel her love and compassion wrapped around me. Emilio, the meditation coach, guided me to places I never imagined possible. Thanks to Emilio I’m now doing breath work and meditating at home, a complete and pleasant surprise! Jessica and Jay, the owners, were always present, ready to listen, offer guidance, or hold your hand. Frank, the Physician’s Assistant, was there for medical care and integration work. It was very reassuring to have all of these professionals supporting us.

The accommodations and food are another amazing part of the experience. Meals were served together at a large table, with a roaring fire, always with a few team members. It was wonderful to share conversation with them and our fellow guests, and then return to our room after dinner each evening. The fire was always lit and the bed was turned down. It was so warm, indulgent, and romantic.

Speaking of romance, my partner and I were fortunate to share a DMT experience during our stay. It was magical to enjoy this together. We didn’t book the couples package that is now available, but if you want additional privacy and time together to bond like you never imagined possible, I highly recommend you consider this.

We left Eleusinia with all of the tools necessary to continue the healing journey that we embarked on. (This is another thing that differentiates Eleusinia from other psilocybin retreats.) That being said, we are already talking about our next visit because the magic and love of Eleusinia are held so closely in our hearts. We are grateful to have found Eleusinia and recommend it without reservation.
