My name is Nelly Melinda. I was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and my childhood and teenage years were marked by hardship. I walked through deep shadows and, at times, believed I wouldn’t live long. However, it was precisely that darkness that awakened me, revealing the beauty of life and the light that also lives within me.
Ayahuasca medicine played a fundamental role in my transformation. It helped me recognize my worth, intelligence, talent, and loving nature. Through it, I discovered the healing power of movement—what later became my own personal medicine.
At 24, I studied contemporary dance, but stepped away after being told I was “too old” to pursue it. I believed that story—until yoga entered my life and opened the door to an endless inward journey. I’ve been blessed to learn from incredible teachers, like Wayne Krashner, a student of Pathabi Jois and former teacher of Madonna. He reminded me that age is never a reason to stop dreaming.
At 38, I began training in handstands and contortion with a wonderful teacher I’ve now worked with for seven years. Today, at 45, I’m a single mother, performing artist, conscious cook, and nature lover. I’ve been teaching yoga, yoga dance, physical conditioning, and restorative yoga for over 12 years.
Now, I’m exploring a new way of living—approaching life from a place of joy, relaxation, and play. My mission is to turn stress into calm, fear into faith, laziness into motivation, and discipline into self-love. This is my path: to live this transformation fully and share the tools that have helped me change my life.
