About this Retreat
Maestra Lucila
After rigorous training from Leonardo, strict dietas, and many years in isolation, Lucila has followed in her father’s footsteps to become a Maestra.
Under the guidance of her father Leonardo, Lucila spent three years in isolation dieting with many master plants including chiric sanango, ayahuma, marusa, shihuahuaco, toé and piñon blanco before becoming a curandera.
Lucila is driven by a strong desire to help others and since she first began her training with the plants, it has been her desire to heal not only the locals in the community, but people from all parts of the world. Today Lucila is known in her community, and among all those who have visited Mai Niti, to be a highly powerful and deeply compassionate healer.
Legendary Ayahuasca Master with 70+ Years Experience at Peru Retreat Ayahuasca
Leonardo, our senior ayahuasca master at the Peru retreat ayahuasca center, began working with sacred plants at the remarkable age of 12. Now 85 years old, he brings over seven decades of profound plant medicine knowledge to our ceremonies. This exceptional ayahuasca master has guided countless healing journeys throughout his lifetime in the Peruvian Amazon.
At our Peru retreat ayahuasca, tradition flows through generations. Leonardo initiated the training of his daughter Lucila as an ayahuasca master more than 20 years ago. Today, father and daughter unite their healing energies to guide transformative ceremonies together, combining ancient wisdom with contemporary understanding.
Traditional Training of a True Ayahuasca Master; Leonardo's journey as an ayahuasca master began under his own father's guidance, following ancestral Shipibo traditions at our Peru retreat ayahuasca location. His initial plant dietas included the powerful teacher plants tobacco, pinon colorado, and chiric sanango—foundational elements in traditional Amazonian plant medicine that continue to inform his masterful ceremony work today.
Details of this retreat
This ayahuasca retreat is held under the guidance of adept Shipibo maestro curanderos (master healers) to facilitate profound healing and transformation.
Mai Niti is a family-run plant medicine healing center based in the Amazon Jungle region of Peru. Ayahuasca and many other plant medicines have their origins in these lands, as do our father-daughter team of Maestros, Leonardo, and Lucila. Their family has been working as healers for many generations and has a profound depth of ancestral wisdom and knowledge with respect to plants and healing.
For decades, they've been healing their local Shipibo tribe community of physical and mental ailments and teaching those who wish to grow spiritually. As word has spread of their ability to heal and teach, people worldwide have come to seek their help. Small, private wooden huts were built on their property to house the new visitors - the end result being the Mai Niti healing center.
Compassion is the force that guides and empowers the maestros to do this sacred work. The maestros' goal is to help all those who come to Mai Niti to awaken to their true nature and realize their true potential as healthy, happy, and free beings.
The shamans, their family, and our experienced bi-lingual facilitators care deeply about your transformative process - we're truly there for you every step of the way in your journey of healing, transformation, and self-realization.
3 Ayahuasca ceremonies and 1 San Pedro ceremony are held at the center every week - (if an *optional* personalized healing plan is agreed upon between you and the maestros, the number of ceremonies you attend will vary)
Following an initial diagnostic Ayahuasca ceremony, you'll be given a personalized treatment plan that involves both Ayahuasca and other Master Plants, as well as purgatives, flower baths, and the use of multiple medicines from the Amazon Jungle.
Ceremonies are held by Maestro Leonardo and his daughter Maestra Lucila. Peter (training shaman/manager) will also be in attendance in most ceremonies and at least one bi-lingual translator / assistant.
The maestros recommend that those with time available join us for a 15-day ayahuasca retreat or a one month+ plant diet.
"I was at Mai Niti for fifteen days January 2020 and words can't really express my experience or my gratitude. This is a truly magical place, not only the shamans (Lucila and Leonardo) but their whole family and volunteers who all together make the center like no other place that I've been. My whole life, love, has been just a word with no real meaning or actual feeling involved, but after being immersed in the Mai Niti family for only a short period of time I can actually say that not only have I felt love but also feel capable of giving love. I say family because that is exactly how everyone there makes you feel. I am writing this for anyone who may be questioning themselves on traveling to the center. Follow your heart to Mai Niti and they will show you a world of love and gratitude that my limited vocabulary cannot put into words. To everyone at the center.....I miss and love you all so much, thank you for everything."
