Sophie-Charlotte Adler (M.Sc.) is a psychologist, hypnotherapist, and psilocybin facilitator devoted to the therapeutic potential of altered states of consciousness. Since 2021 she has facilitated psilocybin retreats in the Netherlands with Inwardbound, alongside Rob Ó Cobhthaigh and Dr. Darragh Stewart, and in 2026 she helped lead their first Psychedelic Assisted Therapy Education Programme for professionals, an immersive training held over seven days. Her path with psychedelics began in research. Her Master’s work at the University of Innsbruck explored the therapeutic potential of psilocybin, and grew into her book Veränderte Bewusstseinszustände: Wege einer neuen Psychotherapie? Das Potenzial der psychoaktiven Substanz Psilocybin (Altered States of Consciousness: New Paths in Psychotherapy? The Potential of the Psychoactive Substance Psilocybin), published by Carl-Auer in 2020.

As a psychotherapist, Sophie-Charlotte works from a broad, integrative foundation. She trained in Ego State Therapy with Dr. Woltemade Hartmann, one of its leading international figures from South Africa. This trauma therapy hypnotherapeutic approach works with the different inner parts of the personality, which map naturally onto the figures and states that so often surface in a psychedelic journey. With Marcelo Muniz from Brasil she trained in haptic gamma embodiment / Somatic Experiencing, a gentle approach to trauma that works through the body and with the wisdom of the nervous system, offering essential grounding for the deeply somatic terrain of a psychedelic experience. She has also trained in ACT and its psychedelic applications with Henry J. Whitfield, with whom she also facilitates professional retreats, and in Ericksonian hypnosis, as a member of the MEG (Milton Erickson Society of Germany), while completing her qualification as a systemic psychotherapist (PiA). Together, these threads of parts work, somatic regulation, and hypnotherapeutic language form the fabric of how she prepares, holds, and integrates psychedelic work. She also accompanies people as a psychedelic integration guide with Nectara (Canada).

At the centre of her clinical work is Ketamine Assisted Hypnotherapy (KAH), a method she developed and has practised since 2018, accompanying more than 700 clients in substance assisted settings. She trains and supervises practitioners in KAH and advises on its safe use, working between her practice in Berlin and Eagles Nest, her seminar and retreat venue in the Palatinate Forest near Pirmasens.

Music, too, lives at the heart of her practice. With her project Hypnotic Sound Journeys, created together with the musician Georg Stuby, she weaves hypnotherapeutic language into live, improvised ambient sound, a living demonstration of how sound itself can gently shift a state of consciousness.
