Why study with them?
Pamela Hayes Malkoff, LPC, MFT, LMHC, ATR-BC, Esalen faculty member and author of The Creative Cognitive Therapy Method, is dedicated to helping you create a life aligned with your values. As an artist, board-certified Art Therapist, and licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Pamela brings over 30 years of experience to her work. Her innovative approach combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with Art Therapy, guiding clients toward healing, growth, and transformation.
Pamela specializes in supporting individuals, couples, and families through life’s challenges, including addiction, grief, anxiety, depression, LGBTQIA+ identity, gender expression, and Ethical Non-Monogamy. She creates a compassionate, non-judgmental space while encouraging you to step outside your comfort zone—the place where lasting change begins.
With a BFA from Parsons School of Design and Master’s degrees in Marriage and Family Therapy and Art Therapy, Pamela has taught at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She has been featured as an expert Art Therapist on SoulPancake’s The Science of Happiness and hosts the video podcast 3 Minute Art Therapy.
Outside of her professional life, Pamela is an artist, a parent, and an imperfect human, finding inspiration in nature, art, other imperfect humans and a warm bowl of pho.
